CHIPMUNK FLIGHT PERFORMANCE AND SUITABLE ENGINES
The
Apache Aviation range of 1/5 scale Chipmunks has been extensively flight tested with almost every available combination of airframe finishing material, engine/smoke system and radio gear. Since the kits were
launched in 1997, over 400 models have been built and successfully flown in the UK, Europe, Scandinavia and as far away as Zimbabwe and Australia. The inherent smoothness in flight makes even an average pilot
look good. Airshow display pilots use the performance of a powerful engine, coupled with the high stress structural integrity of the airframe to maximum effect. Even with the largest possible engine size
and the high weight caused by over the top finishing methods, the landing is still a gentle glide.
