About this deal

While his eyes remained set on her, his emotionless face soon put up a smile, then laughter. “I’m Trije Ryun Haverty Ates. I’m your father, and I’m the emperor of Ates Empire,” he replied while stroking Blondina’s hair. You do look just like your mother,” the man said. He finally showed some sign of emotion only after he finished observing her face. His clear, sharp eyes stared right at Blondina’s.

As she watched the man raise his hand once more, the girl clenched her teeth and closed her eyes tight. She felt the blow to her head when she closed her eyes. Soon enough, the blood from her nose stained her clothing bloodred. Blondina took the ring out of the pouch with a blank face and handed the ring to the man. Even after these many years, the ring sparkled with light. “Well, I’ll look through only this once, but don’t expect much, all right?” the man said while carelessly skimming over the ring. The ML, Amon, is a bit possessive. However, I enjoyed reading their conversations and watching them grow their friendship gradually over 19 chapters before getting to the romance part. The questionably named Blondina is an 11-year-old girl who’s been abused and beaten, living as the mere property of a commoner since her mother’s passing. Afraid for her life, Blondina escapes and attempts to pawn her only worldly possession—a ring her mother left her, the only connection she has to her absentee father. Blondina found herself at the top of the feudal lord’s castle. She slowly looked around the room while walking over the lavish carpet and carefully laid her body on the luxurious bed. She was still in disbelief at what was happening. Never in her life had she imagined herself sleeping in a room in a castle.

With the peace treaty between humans and leopards hanging by a thread, will their blossoming relationship change things for the better—or for the worse? Her mother was widely known for her beauty. Even the aristocrats admired her blond hair and beautiful eyes. Soon Blondina is dragged into the politics of the royals, attempting to navigate her new role, while oblivious to the growing affections of the other young boys in her life. While the first volume of My Gently Raised Beast follows the young Blondina, the second volume will see her at age 20—so if you’re not keen on having a child main character, you won’t have to wait too long! The title is a bit deceiving. The "beast" ML isn't raised by the FL exactly like pet and master or someone eternally grateful to their saviour. Their relationship is more like companionship (friendship-ish, of course, it grows into romance later on) and I really like that dynamic. The man elegantly raised his hand and gestured to his servant, who handed him a candle. With the candle in one hand and the other holding Blondina’s chin, he examined her face closely as if he was observing an intriguing object. All the books available on Harumio are in Korean, with no English language translation, unless otherwise specified in the product description of that item. My Gently Raised Beast doesn’t have the most auspicious of starts; if you’ve read any shoujo or josei fantasy drama in the last few years, the opening beats will be awfully familiar. Sir?” Blondina quietly called him, staring blankly at the closed door, but he was nowhere to be found. She was now left alone in the dark room with only the dim lights of the candle surrounding her. Tears started to well up in her eyes when she finally caught her breath, but she kept the tears from dropping. This is nothing. I’ve gone through worse. She softly touched the ring in the pouch as she clenched her trembling lips tight. She knew it was the only legacy left by her mother, and she had promised to protect it until the very end.

Food - We cannot ship any food products which are easily spoiled or require storage at a low temperature e.g. meat, dairy. I told you my mother left this to me, telling me it was the only legacy left behind from my father!”That was how Blondina was taken to the castle, where she had been staying for several days now, still not knowing why she was brought there. As she pushed open the heavy wooden door of the shop, the dry air mixed with the smell of perfume welcomed her. It smelled exactly like a place fancy ladies would visit. The girl’s name was Blondina. She’d worked as a clerk at the inn since her mother passed away. Her life at the inn was arduous. Her hands were swollen from the tedious work, and she was often bullied for being clumsy. However, as an orphan, she had no better choice. It was either this or being sold to an old pedophile. The cultural differences are hinted at from time to time, but are never really explored which would have been interesting to see the couple trying to adapt to each others cultures and the awkwardness of it all. Instead everything remains surface based and we don't really learn much about the sacred beast. Some beast appeared without stones in their foreheads, are they sacred, can they talk? Some wolves appeared too, are they sacred as well? No idea. As it turns out, this heirloom is proof of Blondina’s royal lineage, and she’s soon whisked away to the royal palace where she meets her father—the Emperor of Ates. Despite her new circumstances, Blondina finds her life isn’t much better—her step-siblings berate and bully her, and although she learns proper etiquette, her father insists she is to be seen and not heard.

It was a small worn pouch with strings. Unlike its cover, there was a shiny ring in it, which was the sole reminder of her father, whom she had never met. Her mother used to always talk about her father, who abandoned them like the wind as soon as Blondina was born. Blondina felt her heart flutter. She couldn’t stop feeling guilty for breaking her last promise to her mother. You useless brat! I took you in with plain generosity, and this is how you repay me? The least you can do is be of some use!” My Gently Raised Beast, Volume 1 is another brilliantly-made manhwa adaptation from Ize Press, with some great comedic beats and a lovely, if somewhat generic, heroine. While the first volume isn’t a stunner in its own right, we think the series shows definite promise; if you already read widely in this genre, then My Gently Raised Beast will certainly find a good home on your shelves. On that note, the characters are much like the plot. Because they aren't given the opportunity to grow and overcome trials, they are also very bland. Amon is an unconvincing love interest. I don't believe the romance at all. Bridey...or Blondina...IDEK anymore, the translations always seem to change their names. But then again, that's not the author's fault. Anyhow, Blondina is equally as bland but she's even worse cause there's nothingcoolabout her. She's got no powers, she can't turn into an animal, she doesn't seem to have any emotions other than being content and "pleasant" which is fake and completely not like a human. People are MEANT to experience emotions! Joy, anger, disappointment, lust, fear, pride...these are all emotions everyone is SUPPOSED to experience regularly. To make a character so "pleasant" and like a saintess is bad. I don't understand authors that do this. When you strip away everything that makes a person human then they are just an empty shell. There's nothing to see. This was it. She finally decided to put her survival before a ring left behind by her father, who had done nothing but abandon her and her mother.
