Upon the initial spritz, I detect a surprising aldehydic and green tuberose blend, even though aldehydes aren't officially listed. Cabotine Rose by Grès is a 'Eau de Toilette' for women with fruity and floral notes, for a young woman and with a very broad idea of love, which for her is a fundamental part of her life. I love how inexpensive it is, and you get a whiff every once in a while of Orange Blossom and amber. It smells very flowery, the rose comes a little longer to wear A pleasant perfume for every occasion.The enchanting, strong fragrance contains ginger lily, known as butterfly lily at the heart of this composition. I blind-bought the EDP version out of curiosity because of all the reviews and comparisons to Dior’s Tendre Poison, and it was a risky one for me, because green scents often tickle my nostrils the wrong way and can be even headache-inducing. I don't remember what the early 90's version smelled like but I bet this is an example of a well executed reformulation. This perfume has so many aromatic accords that looking at the list makes you think, wow, what's not in here?It was created by Jean-Claude Delville from IFF, and he was expected to make a light but lasting perfume, what was a hard task to do. Maybe i can find something nice to layer it with, as it is it's waaay too old school nice girl/lady smelling for me. I like the ninty-eight percent of the notes and that's probably why this doesn't work for me, it's too much, and feels crowded.
