Overall I really enjoyed this story, the subject matter is difficult to read about, but how the author allows you to understand and empathize with Crew's addiction is so well done. I’m sure he still sees me as the sweet, innocent little Julianna Barlowe he’s known since we were kids. The play’s plot thus serves as a time-filling diversion, a way to pass those lingering hours, just as the mechanicals’ entertainment of ‘Pyramus and Thisbe’ ‘hath well beguiled/ The heavy gait of night’. I totally recommend it just beware as it contains triggers “drug abuse/addiction, mentions some withdrawal symptoms and overdose death” if you can’t handle such materials then this book is not for you!

Illicit Desires is a perfect mix of what I love; self destructive behavior, secrets, turmoil, adversity as well as vulnerability, unconditional love, forgiveness, found family, support and SCORCHING hot chemistry. It's the best of the stories I've read by Lacey Cross, and I have read quite a few--though I've only recently started reviewing them. Fantasies become nearly tangible, depicting pleasure at the highest level of saturation almost to the point of gluttony. This audiobook was incredibly hot and the group scenes were the hottest but can a 3 person relationship last?That is, until the day a cramped elevator brings him up close and personal with an angel who has surely been sent to test him. Yet despite their shared quest to fulfill the desires of their audiences, the two genres have vastly different focuses within the realm of pleasure reflected in their modes of consumption. Addiction is a very real disease and it’s just as hard for the people around you as it is for the person with it, it’s a full time commitment from everyone to help an addict recover and the love and support he got from his friends is just what was needed. So dull and generic characters in this one, their interactions were so boring and the writing didn't help, it felt so juvenile and amateurish, it wasn't that noticeable in the previous book but maybe because i just read that one first.
