About this deal

I have a couple of XL1's and lots of XL glass from when I had a company that made TV commercials and special event programs for our local cable provider. Obviously the newer cameras are way easier to work with in terms of getting the footage off of them, but it's worth considering that everything is worth using if you have a good story to tell. The original query is old, but I daresay thousands of people have read these posts: the wiasdom lives on.

With good tapes it may not be an issue, but it's certainly more prone to trouble than modern solid state media. Optional lenses, viewfinders, and microphone adapters allow you to customize the XL1S to your specific style and application. However, recently I got to spend some time on the phone with Joe Bogacz, Senior Product Development Manager for Canon USA's Video Division, and we discussed most of the new features of the XL1S in a little greater detail than what you'll find in the press release. In response to user feedback from XL1, the XL1S incorporates several new features that enhance creative expression and flexibility. They still do everything they were designed to do but in a world of HD, 4K and high capacity memory cards they are of limited value. The DMXL1S is an excellent camera easy to use extremely functional design and very powerful it is worth the money if you just used it for sound never mind the picture and lens quality. and four recording times (15 frames, 30 frames, 45 frames and 60 frames) for a total of 16 different interval recording combinations.

Although not an HD it is a Monster i am 59 and have been taking pictures since i was 15 my first camera was a Canon and have used Canon ever since enough about that.To replace that would be so expensive, I thought well what if I just use the camera to capture from until the playhead wears out. The microphone and EVF assembly is not changed (except for the new EVF features mentioned above); however I've been told there is a very slight but important physical difference: the EVF and mic cables are supposed to be slightly longer to better accomodate the LightWave Systems audio accessories without strain. The cosmetic condition is excellent with a small minor mark on the XLR adapter (please see the last image). The video noise introduced at different levels of gain is also much improved over the XL1, plus the new camera has the +30dB setting.
