About this deal

Ex-cop turned PI Slam Bradley is hired to deliver a letter to the Waynes which turns out to be a ransom note. I'm glad Tom King isn't dragging things out like he does many times, but I felt like he jumped right in too fast this time.

Jordie Bellaire’s colors are something that I was initially not too keen on, but like King’s narration I think I like where it’s going.

I really enjoyed the first 5 issues of the book, with King crafting a great noir set in Gotham with everything you would want: hard boiled crime, damsels, smoking guns, and double and triple crossings.

El hombre murciélago solo escucha la historia que le narra el viejo detective Slam Bradley en su lecho de muerte. While this book does tackle some issues like segregation, policing, and gentrification that are huge factors in why present-day Gotham has the issues it does, this story just does not do it justice. Slam Bradley has never feared walking the hard path alone, but even his courage will be tested by the shocking turn of events that will take Gotham City down a dark, violent path. Talking about how they killed his brother for being a black man who stepped out of line while he shows he’s no longer accepting the façade they’ve built is an act of triumph. He's bitter that his wife controls Wayne Enterprises' finances and is in a better financial position than himself.
