About this deal

The Great Escape' is often considered to be the final album of a trio of Britpop albums released by Blur in the mid-1990s, after 'Modern Life Is Rubbish' (1993) and 'Parklife' (1994). Then bright young things looking to shake things up after years of electronic rave dominance, the fact so much emphasis was placed on these two bands makes for an incomplete story of those times, while their individual output was not quite polar but certainly harder to compare than headlines suggested. I ended up getting most of the reissues except Leisure, my least favourite, TGE and TT as I have those original pressings. Features the singles: 'Country House', 'The Universal', 'Stereotypes', 'Charmless Man' and 'It Could Be You'.

Originally released in 1994, as a Japan-only CD, The Special Collector’s Edition will be a 2LP pressed on coloured vinyl, featuring a collection of B-sides taken from the of their first three studio albums singles from the albums Leisure, Modern Life Is Rubbish and Parklife. Blu-ray audio disc on Parlophone, featuring the 10-track album mixed in Dolby Atmos by David Wrench and accompanied by a hi-res stereo mix.His experimentation on the guitar crackles through 'Movin' On' and 'Country Sad Ballad Man,' while he is even allowed a lead vocal on the quite lovely 'You're So Great. I am sure I am not the only other person who has wondered this so thought id get a discussion going as it would be a shame if we don't get to see this again on a vinyl format. Similar to Blur - Blur but this copy does not mention Warner Music Company on the back cover or label copyright/publishing credits. uno dei capolavori dei Blur, che si allontanano dal brit pop dei dischi precedenti, the great escape, Parklife e prima ancora Modern Life.

Whilst not their weirdest work, and not quite their best, Blur's self-titled album is an extraordinary piece of work that any self-respecting music fan should investigate. I honestly felt like Damon was in the room on a few tracks (especially Beetlebum) and Grahams guitar parts piercing through the stellar mix. The Manchester icon and former-Oasis enfant terrible has spoken from his heart on a range of subjects, from "dance music can fuck right off" to "I am not an entertainer", and understandably his off-the-cuff honesty resonates with both the die hard disciples and sceptics alike. The Ballad of Darren is the band's ninth studio album, their first since the chart-topping The Magic Whip in 2015, with artwork featuring an image by British photographer Martin Parr.

At a time when Oasis were aping the sounds of their pub-rock heroes on Definitely Maybe, Blur drew from the legacy of the Kinks and Small Faces to create an album that's as English as a rainy Sunday in front of the gas fire. Albarn, meanwhile, is equally on top of his game, writing the sarcastic Britpop 'classic' 'Look Inside America' with ease as well the wonderfully sinister 'Death Of A Party,' addressing the incoming Britpop comedown. The album, produced by James Ford , was recorded in Studio 13, London and Devon, and is the sound of a band at the very top of their game. Review: One of the most successful British bands of the last 3 decades, Blur are back with their first new album in over 8 years: The Ballad of Darren.
