About this deal

Bushcraft Essentials is an ethical and sustainable company that makes products with the environment in mind. The pouch is durable nylon, the sort of thing a good quality rucksack is made of, with good stitching and strong Velcro, there are two slots in the pouch, one for the box and one for the grill top. Apart from the weight the XL is an excellent product that would benefit from a second set of trivets as standard. Still, ashes tend to fall on both sides so think about cleaning your ground as you would with a regular fire.

My solution to this is to bring with you a single (or two if you feel you afford the pack space) WORKING glove! Honestly there wasn't much to dump out--the stove burns very thoroughly and leaves very little ash). It's really the kind of weight that is going to be for car/horse/sled/flat biking or purposeful light-eating hikes use. I lit the fire with some wood chips, the laid about 7 of the peices of timer on top, which about filled the stove. I have used metal Nalgene bottles, canteen cups, other brands of metal conatiners, Billy pot(Zebra) and pans. But the slide-in module also offers a wide range of other possible uses: Use as a fireproof, dry surface to make feather sticks or scrape bark to start a fire.

When you’re finished the Bushbox folds away similarly with a little shake to collapse the ashtray and lower grate. now it is common sense that all stoves are not to be touched, they are like candle lights essentially but even they needs to be moved around when lighted now and then, luckily, these 'sticks' are included and can be used to move the stove but they ALSO get extremely hot fast, meaning that if they are attached to the stove too long (which is a very short time), even at the edge; Then the safety sticks will burn your hands and melt your perhaps EXPENSIVE outdoor gloves and ruin their waterproofness! With the Bushbox XL Titanium you are completely independent, as it can be used in many different ways and is suitable for natural solid fuels (twigs, branches, leaves, charcoal, animal dung) as well as for spirit burners (e. They mention it's a beautifully engineered product, with a superb design and quality of engineering. I think it helps preventing forestfires because the fire is contained, and at the same time it gives you the oppurtunity to enjoy watching and using a fire. Even though Bushcraft Essentials intend it to be a wood-burning stove, it works just as well with alcohol and gas. Disassembling, after it has cooled down, is equally easy as you just turn it upside down and let it disassemble by itself.

I purchased the combination kit the bag is top quality cordura and the small grill plate is a really good addition, using the grill plate in the base of the stove allows you to use a stove full of wood pellet cat litter giving enough time to make a curry, this is great for car camping if you decide to carry some cat litter with you. Compared to a campfire, the Bushbox allows for a clean, compact and safe way of cooking, fully in line with the "Leave no Trace" principle. My point is, if you are an observant person, then this is a very safe (not entirely, but very) tool to bring with you into 'intimate' areas for camping. We’ve been using this stove on all our trips to find out whether this is the ultimate adventure stove. As some others have said painting it black would help improve aesthetic look after a few uses but that doesnt really bother me much. It is a tough stove but it does not appear it is built for powerful fire bigger than itself and will thus begin to bend and warp into a flawed ugliness which in worst case scenario can ruin the joints of the tool and become utterly broken as it needs to be reforged back into its good design. The Bushbox XL comes with two trivets which can be used as support for different pot sizes, as a bracket for a Trangia burner or to handle the hot stove safely. Keep the holes in the base plate clear and un-clogged as to get the most optimal and efficient fire.

Attached on top of the Bushbox XL Titanium it makes an excellent grill or provides a solid platform for smaller pots and cups. You don’t need to prepare regular firewood and instead you just pick twigs, pine cones and bark to feed it with.Secondly, if you do manage to get one set of tabs located in the notches and under the lugs the ones on the other side come out. Using wood is so simple as you can get the fire going in the stove, then use the feed hole to keep it burning. Being what it is however, accidents WILL happen, and they will happen easily unless you make sure your stove are placed on somehow a table, perhaps a large stone working as a table for you (place it on stone would be the best option as its heated aura manipulates the living surroundings around it! Unfortunately this is a physical effect, there is no way to avoid it, except using the smaller Universal Grate.
