About this deal

All of our books are 100% brand new, unread and purchased directly from the publishers in bulk allowing us to pass the huge savings on to you! The Friends and Relationships chapter was interesting because if you follow Sali you might know bits of her personal life so I'm sure some of the advice is based on personal experience. Take what you need (and as you progress in life you will need most of it) and leave the rest as you'd do with any advice book.

I read this over Christmas and thoroughly enjoyed it - although I really wanted photos of that crap drawer and gallery wall! In 2018, she co-founded the non-profit collective Beauty Banks and in 2022 she was awarded an Honorary Fellowship from Cardiff University for services to journalism and charity. Hughes is a beauty journalist and that is her area of expertise and from looking at photos of her online she appears to be far too young to have accumulated the gravitas and benefit of years of experience to advise on such serious matters as are contained in this book. This time it feels like a lot of filler from someone who has the average life experience of a well-off provincial forty something.

I can relate fully to all this delicious wisdom apart from having wet hair (I think its sexy at any time or place! I did frequently think what a lovely gift it would make to someone in their late teens or early 20s leaving home for the first time, but then wondered if said someone wouldn't be more likely to get their life advice from Tiktok and Youtube. There are far too few handy hints and far too much of her personal anecdotes which add little to the content.

A former magazine editor, she has written for many publications including Grazia, the Observer, Elle, Marie Claire, Cosmopolitan, Stylist and Glamour. Her comments giving direction on "how to grieve" are incredibly trite and extremely offensive to those of us who have actually experienced grief. The 103 third parties who use cookies on this service do so for their purposes of displaying and measuring personalized ads, generating audience insights, and developing and improving products. This book opens with Home tips, but you can get these elsewhere from experts online, or perhaps you have copies of Laura de Barra's books already. I wish more was discussed about the pyschological protection of children watching unsuitable an harmful media or tv content, not just porn, but as a society this is largely ignored. She was generous with her words and time when signing afterwards and softly spoken but set in her opinions. Listened to this as an Audiobook over past month and have loved all the pearls of wisdom it contains .
