The idea behind Ninjago ‘Core’ is to be a sort of soft reset for the franchise, veering back to a baseline after many waves and seasons of highly specialized and stylised designs. The studded version is 4 modules long, 1 module wide and a brick tall, except for the one plate tall bit jutting out in the rear. minifigures – Building set includes Master Wu, Cole, Kai, Lloyd, Nya and Pixal, plus the snakes Boa Destructor and Cobra Mechanic with their rammer vehicle, to play out battle.

There aren’t any stairs to reach it, but I guess ninjas live here, so they’ll be able just to climb the wall or something. Similar to the subs in the Seabound theme, they’re pretty similar in basic design but distinct enough to feel like more than just recolored clones. The “training” aspect is shown on the back of the box – it’s an area for Nya to practice her water blasts to knock the flame off of the three torches.
