About this deal

Although every effort is made to give as accurate a result as possible, they should be taken as an estimate only. This high performance flashlight is a true factotum of illumination with 19 LEDs for a powerful 20,000 lumen max that is astonishing output and cut through 317 yards of the darkness.

It’s possible I’ve made a mistake but I’m guessing that Nitecore have tweaked the proportion of spot vs flood on some of the modes. The magnetic closure is a nice touch and allows for silent opening (without the ‘tearing’ sound of Velcro). Mode 2 is the tactical mode which will only provide momentary illumination while the button is being held down, with access to the four brightness levels. Talking about unlocking: the TM20K is enhanced with a slide switch with which you can easily unlock the light, lock it and choose between the daily or tactical mode.

Carbon fiber also absorbs micro-vibrations, so you'll have uninterrupted charging no matter how you jump, run, or tumble. All of that to talk about the TM20K not outputting anything, well, you will be very happy about this feature. To enter the lockout mode again slide the toggle along to the lockout icon and leave it there for at least two seconds to activate lockout. I mean, I understand it, what can they do with so small cooling fins and lightweight design (I know I said a while ago it is heavy - let me explain: heavy generally, as a flashlight for hikes and carrying it for a long time, lightweight as that bright flashlight). When the light is off, in Daily Mode (Mode 1) / Tactical Mode (Mode 2), short press the Mode button and the power indicator will flash to show the battery voltage (± 0. In my sample, received for the review, to unlock the flashlight just move the lever to the desired position 1 or 2 (the sales package, as written in the manual, should have another procedure for unlocking the flashlight once the it is locked). The mode switch is used to cycle through brightness settings while the light is on including the dedicated floodlight mode, or spotlight mode.

LED is placed in SMO reflector for a decent throw, other 18 are placed without any optics, resulting in a very wide and uniform beam. Two 21700 lithium-ion batteries with a total capacity of 9600 mAh are built into the aluminium CNC machined unibody of the TM20K, which provides lightweight as well as excellent heat dissipition. Inside the package we find the Nitecore TM20K with the Clip inserted, a rigid holster, a USB-C charging cable, a lanyard, the user manual (multilingual) and a card with photos of some of the previous Tiny Monsters produced by Nitecore in these years. My preference is always for removable/replaceable batteries, but the other side to this is the guaranteed performance of the cells chosen by Nitecore to power this Tiny Monster, and the simplification of the design as it doesn’t need a battery door.
