If I’m remembering correctly, someone in the Meyer biography said that Janice Cowart thinks Meyer’s films are sleazy and sees no value in them. She talked about her role administering Russ’ estate, and how any profits benefited a cancer charity. Was there any news about Russ’ films, and whether they would be made available more widely, perhaps on BluRay, perhaps in film festivals? Russ Meyer's films may be silly and irreverent, but they're also great fun, and while Beneath the Valley of the Ultravixens is not his best work, it's still great fun to watch and certainly comes recommended to Meyer's fans!

After dropping him off at the radio station (a power station), Lavonia goes home and has sex once again with the truck driver. Things happened in the five or so years between then and her hard-core career (health problems related to her breast augmentation, I think), but at the time of this filming she was probably one of the hottest women on the planet.When Lamar tells her he wants to be saved, she sends him to her cleansing room (a bathroom) while she changes clothes. So I guess the estate is making some money, but certainly not as much as it could if it were run by someone who cared even a bit. Finally there is Lamar, who anally rapes his large-breasted wife Lavonia ( Kitten Natividad) after she tries having vaginal sex.That is where the films I grew up with took shape, where the kinetic and frenetic cutting was assembled. On the way to Russ’ house, I passed a familiar building, a medical and dental center I recognized as having featured in ‘Ultra-Vixens.

His virtually-patented "up through the bed springs" shots are unmistakable and this film serves as the perfect showcase and record of this unique, yet effective technique. Suddenly she takes her robe off, sits down on him and rapes him, all the while preaching to her listeners about his salvation. The plot isn't really relied upon and the film is more of an excuse for Meyer to present a load of silly scenes; but that isn't a problem. By today's standards, it seems strange to remember that Russ Meyer was once considered very risque and was pushing back the excessive censorship of that age.

If they don’t have the funds to do a proper film restoration, they should license the films to someone who has. Dustier and older, but still there waiting for Russ to re-appear, jump in the driver’s seat, stomp on the gas, and head for a spartan shoot in the desert hills. The original UK cinema release suffered heavy BBFC cuts and lost around 10 minutes of footage with substantial edits to all of the sex scenes and a shot of Lamar's exposed genitals following a groin kick. Over 40 years had passed since Russ shot scenes there, but the place was unchanged, and still a medical and dental center. When seeing Lamar still has his pants down, the doctor tries to rape him, but Lamar hides in the closet.
