It made it feel never ending and from one problem to the next there wasn't enough time always to really see the effects. I couldn’t put the book down, it was wholesome, romantic and holy hotness, all the steam coming out of my kindle. Granata weaves so much into these pages that it would be impossible not to fall in love with this book.

Just one of those romance books that you read really fast, enjoy most of the ride but it's nothing memorable enough to make it to your top list. BUT WHAT'S NOT EVER FINE IS YOU TREATING THE OTHER PERSON LIKE COMPLETE SHIT AND SAYING A BUNCH OF REALLY HURTFUL THINGS JUST BECAUSE THEY HAVE DEPRESSION. Like all of Kristen Granata’s work it tackles really difficult topics with so much grace and accuracy. There are several actions that could trigger this block including submitting a certain word or phrase, a SQL command or malformed data. I knew as soon as I saw the synopsis for this one, it was going to be my favorite Kristen Granata to date.Nix and James are the perfect example of how love can open your eyes to a new perspective and help guide you through darkness into hope. When Nix is released from a mental health facility after a suicide attempt, she moves into the house her father left her when he died. I loved to see him and Leo bickering, seeing him in action as a police officer and making Phoenix feel safe and cared for, without even knowing that she was saving him and helping him heal all along. This books illustrates that perfectly in a way that made me see what life in the future could be like. No two journeys looked the same in the book, and that made it so that it feels okay to have a journey that is slightly different from what's expected.

But what I didn’t know, is how emotional it was going to make me throughout the entire book, with parts completely gutting me.It's that older kid syndrome; when the weight amd responsibility is thrown on you within your asking, and you become afraid of disappointing those around you. That is completely unacceptable and something that a romance author should never use as a conflict just for the guy a couple of pages later to realise not by himself, but being told by his younger brother how shitty that was. Rough language is super hard for me to listen to, but I also understand the world we live in is rough. Beautiful writing, amazing characters, and a story that I couldn’t help relating with in more ways than one. supporting me, I hated to see that this FMC family left her at her lowest and then her love interest did the same thing because of his damn trauma which is not an excuse.
