About this deal

The man who owns the company humors Henry by giving him the job, but he's sure that the titled nobleman won't stick it out for very long. except in my case, I rather lack the nerves of steel and cold willpower that he eventually exhibits in the fight for life, limb, and justice. You will read the books, devouring one after the other and trust me Dick Francis has a lot of novels (over 40 by my last count).

This, and other similar, casually tossed off asides are instrumental in keeping us intrigued as the mystery builds until Henry finally begins to peel back the curtain. The reader is wonderful with a lovely British accent and a wide range of voices ( including a woman's voice like a bad Monty Python skit), but the good reading can't make up for bad writing. p>Use it as an adhesive for eyes, a thick head cement, quick-building clear back for scuds, or instant repair for damaged flies. The hero is pretty clearly intended to be read as being somewhere on the autistic spectrum (although it's never made explicit) and the handling of both his interior monologue and his emotions is fascinating. Racing related thrillers - Henry Grey, an English duke, becomes bored with his lifestyle and, much to his parents' disgust, take a job transporting race horses by air in addition to taking flying lessons and being a horse jockey on weekends.Since these providers may collect personal data like your IP address we allow you to block them here. I must admit though that I was a bit disappointed with the sudden ending as I like my endings to tell me the end and not leave me guessing. From house sparrows to hungry robins, residents accross all six of our Nursing Homes recorded hundreds of feathered favourites in their gardens this weekend, as they took park in the RSPB’s Big Garden Birdwatch. There's the usual quiet, but secretly strong hero, getting mixed up with crooks and finding love along the way, also having his ass kicked by the bad guys but getting the better of them through sheer perseverance and endurance.

The hero's thoughts reveal a vulnerability that is touching, while his actions are always based on doing the right thing to achieve justice. These blanks do not require finishing – there is no coating that can be applied that is tougher than the acrylic and getting a coating to even adhere to the surface is very difficult. It takes a little while for the plot to get going, but soon Henry clues in: there's something Yardman Transport is doing that isn't on the up-and-up. Also, one of the senior emplyees had got involved in a scheme to export horses twice to get extra retirement money as at that time the UK was giving 1. He is the author of four previous novels: "Dead Cert", "Nerve", "For Kicks" and "Odds Against" - all of which have received high praise from the critics and have been translated into many languages.

Quote taken from the front and rear flaps of the dustwrapper] ***First impression of the true first edition, in its original dustwrapper. Item despatched quickly and as described, but damaged in transit due to plastic wrap packaging being inadequate protection. Christi is really good this morning and we are just about to trot up in beautiful sunshine in Pau and feeling very relaxed". Various employees of transporting company that Henry Grey worked for had gone missing as they were murdered by Billy.Like many of Dick Francis' protagonists, The main character isn't very aware of his own abilities, appeal, and strengths. I did make it to the end so it wasn't a dead loss, but I would recommend other Dick Francis books ahead of this one, especially For Kicks, Odds Against, or his first novel Dead Cert. It seemed to take an awfully long time to get going with the first half all setting the scene while not really advancing the story at all. De Luxe Edition, Corner unclipped, some light wear to edges and corners of dustjacket, edges a little creased, some light wear to covers and spine, internally in good condition, pages crisp and clear.
