ABBA’s Voyage album has gone in at number one on the UK charts with massive sales of almost 204,000 units.

They say it’s foolhardy to wait more than 40 years between albums, so we’ve recorded a follow-up to [1981’s] ‘The Visitors. As a foretaste of what is possibly the greatest comeback in music history, ABBA have already delivered three single harbingers with "I Still Have Faith In You", "Don't Shut Me Down" and "Just A Notion". ABBA, one of the most successful pop groups of all time, announce that for the first time in 40 years they are back, with a revolutionary new concert that will see Agnetha, Bjorn, Benny and Anni-Frid performing digitally with a live 10-piece band, in a purpose-built arena in London from 27th May 2022, alongside a brand new studio album. Since their breakthrough with "Waterloo" over 45 years ago, ABBA have been one of the greatest bands in music history: Known for world hits such as "Dancing Queen", "Mamma Mia", "Take A Chance On Me", "Knowing Me, Knowing You", "Money, Money, Money", "Super Trouper" and many more, should they conquer number 1 in Germany with four of their last five albums. Blending cutting-edge technology, spectacular lighting, and some of the most beloved songs ever written, ABBA take to the stage in a whole new way.The album had “the biggest opening week of any album in four years” and that achievement has nothing to do with streaming, it’s nothing to do with vinyl, but has everything to do with the CD sales. The four members, Agnetha Volzkog, Björn Ulvers, Benny Andersson, and Anni-Frid Lingstad aka Frida, reunite for the much talked about new song "I Still Have Faith", which features charming vocals and wonderful melodies reminiscent of the peak of their popularity.

DVD "ABBA in Japan" features a studio live from a legendary TV show "ABBA Special," which was produced when they visited Japan for promotion in 1978. Impressive stuff, although in the press release to announce this news, the official charts company literally wrote nothing about the enormous CD sales and instead focused on vinyl, choosing to point out that, with those figures, Voyage was “the fastest-selling vinyl release of the century” (it actually beat a three-year-old record of the Artic Monkeys, whose last album sold almost 25k vinyl in week one in 2018). The performance will start promptly and latecomers will not be admitted until a suitable break in the performance.
