About this deal

Because the FOV on the 8x56 is not bad, you don't feel the view is in any way particularly narrow when looking through it and if I gave you one to look through and then a few minutes later swapped it with the other, you would most likely not notice any difference. The Bresser Condor 10x42 binocular is Waterproof, Fogproof, has quality BaK-4 prisms and is fully multi coated. The BRESSER S-Series 8×42 is a roof prism binocular with a magnification of 8x and an optical aperture of 42mm. For more on why this is important for low light performance, take a look at my complete guide to the exit pupil. Since then we tested and reviewed this exact National Geographic model when she was 7 and whilst she has access to loads of other binoculars this is her favorite.

As I stated in that review, for a 56mm binocular, the Bresser Pirsch ED binoculars are about as "compact" as it gets. Far from just being good for stargazing, viewing planets, the moon and general astronomy at night-time, I would also highly recommend these to anyone wanting a higher power binocular to mount onto a tripod and look out over the ocean, a lake or onto the mountains during the day. Similarities are bound to be mentioned between it and the Celestron Granite and the Alpine Wings ED. It moves very smoothly, if rather stiffly, and takes one-and-a-third anti-clockwise turns to move from close focus to infinity. I have found that focusing speed and tension seem to play the biggest role in my perception of depth of focus. The medium-sized Condor 42mm binoculars, available in both 8x and 10x, are perfect for birders and nature lovers, and make a great all-around binocular for most anything you can throw at it. Waterproofing keeps them safe against leaking water bottles, trips aboard a vessel, or even living along the coast, where fogging and fungus can be a unwelcome result of beach life. As you would expect due to their smaller lenses, the barrels on the 8x42 Bresser Pirsch ED are thinner than those of the 56 and don't flare out anywhere near as much towards the end. Please do not use the `Remember me` option if using a computer with public access or that is used by more than one person. The feel, as they are rotated, isn’t sloppy but it isn’t as precise as many of the models I have recently reviewed.

In terms of the design, it looks to me as though Bresser uses exactly the same focus wheels on both models, which makes perfect sense. The Wave 8x42 binoculars provide an optimal field of view of 113 m at a distance of 1000 m - giving you a greater overview of the surroundings than at 10x or 12x magnification. I know the rudimentary info but more in depth knowledge may explain why the comparison turned out such as it did. As I have often referenced before my experience leads me to believe that apparent depth of field can be different with two binoculars of a given magnification.Available in a wide variety of configurations, but all using roof prisms, ranging from the 8x or 10x25mm compacts, right up to the large 10x or 8x56mm versions they are also a versatile series that will perform in a wide range of areas and uses. As far as I know and what I have been able to find out, apart from the different sizes, there is no difference to the glass used on all lens elements (including the extra-low dispersion / ED ones) and coatings applied to them on both the objective and ocular lenses. So as I wrote in the 8x56 review, I would describe the view in both as being vibrant, but still "true to life" when it comes to the colors and contrast levels that you see.

Levenhuk suggest that these are suitable for children of 4 years and above which is about right, however I know from experience that my daughter was capable of using the very similar Bresser ExploreOne 6x21 Junior Compact Binoculars from around 3 years old. When you want to observe animals or the landscape from a fixed position, simply secure the binoculars to a tripod via the tripod connection thread. Delta Optical Chase 8×42 ED, Bresser Pirsch ED 8×42 PhC, Vixen New Foresta II 8×42 ED DCF and Vortex Viper HD 8×42. In addition to a sleek roof prism design that is unobtrusive and easy to grip, all models are made with premium BaK-4 prisms that are fully multi-coated for brilliant images rich in contrast. The eyecups are metal and are typical of most relatively inexpensive roof prism models featuring one intermediate location between fully collapsed and fully extended.

Extra low dispersion glass plus all the other usual roof prism bells and whistles (fully multi-coated, phase coated, waterproof, etc…). Bresser Condor Series Binoculars come in a nice selection of sizes, from the compact yet rugged 32mm models to the larger aperture, super bright 42mm designs.
