Awesome; trying to think of reasons why this hasnt been done yet; then again I dont think there is a reason why it hasnt been done on all fdm printer yet either; sometimes someone just has to do the obvious, to get the herd moving, and this seems like one of those cases. I've been using this for over a week now and one thing I am noticing is that the metal sheet warps and lifts from the magnetic sheet. Please ensure your address details are correct as once the parcel is on its way we cannot re-direct it.
There are gaps between the magnets, but I have no trouble with resin being there – the gaps seem to be small enough that the viscous resin doesn’t get deep – only about 8 mm. grit is pretty harsh--I had purchased a "Pro" platen to experiment with and roughed it up "just a bit" with 180 grit using a random orbit sander.
Some mention that the magnetic part sticks well to the build plate, the adhesive is strong, and the backing sticks very well to it. If you choose to decline, then we will only use functional and analytical cookies and you will continue to see random advertisements.
I kept finding myself wishing I had some way to hold my build plate over the mercury 2 plus wash station after a wash cycle while it drips IPA. This is a version of my regular Mars 3 build plate holder that uses a magnetic mount instead of the 2020 extrusion mount. I sanded both sides of the magnetic plate and then cleaned with IPA and levelled and all has been good for months. However, since the platform is now thicker, it may not be able to do so (the clearance of the platform axis may also be insufficient). I am printing directly to the sheet (the reason I purchased this) but as the sheet is warping up at the edges, resin is getting underneath and the final print does not have a flat bottom.The enclosure can be closed and the buildplate rotated slightly so that the drops falls of at a corner. I have a flex plate for my FDM printer so thought I would get one for my Mars, and came across the Sovol flex plate - I already have the Sovol VATS and going by the quality of them I thought I would give the flex plate a shot.

You are right, 80 grit for roughing up the plate of the printer itself would be too harsh -BUT remind that the flex plate is, as the name suggests, flexible. We are all familiar with this situation: Either our print does not adhere to the printing platform and remains stuck to the FEP, or the print adheres so firmly to the platform that it is difficult to ever get it off the platform again undamaged. If you do not know this and just hit "home" -the printer tries to approach the absolute zero point with its platform.So the next step will be to coat one the sheets in the dark surface finish – probably by cold bluing the steel sheet. tHE onlt "too much" platen adhesion prolem I have expedrienced was with that damned useless 'water washable' resin. Updated 3/15 I uploaded the version 2 for left hand to leave me room calibrate the plate w/ the m6 Level Adjustable Handle.
After printing, the flexible build plate can be detached from the magnetic base and the print can be removed more easily by gently bending it. Resin leakage, scratch-resistant film damage, human damage, collision damage are not included in the warranty. Additionally you need to replace the 2 screws with matching ones, because the original ones are too short, of course. Thanks to a specially patterned surface, our steel plate has improved adhesion compared to most original platforms, which greatly increases the success rate! apart from the relevelling I changed NO settings on the printer and set it of to print an adaptor for an Airsoft RIF, 56 minutes later and I have 2 adaptors firmly stuck to the flex plate, gave them a push (wearing gloves) and they were firmly stuck to the plate, grabbed a tab to remove the plate as as I pulled the plate off, one adaptor popped off into my hand, the other stayed on, I gave the flex plate a slight bend and the other adaptor popped off. I pealed the backing off the magnetic sheet, lined it up and stuck it to the build plate, I then left it on a flat surface with some weights on the top of the plate and left it over night to allow it to stick well and truly.
