I found the story engaging, but the chief draw for me (and the reason I picked this up from a library display recently) was the artwork. There was just the right amount of choice to suit everyone without being overwhelming and I received comments from parents and staff about the quality of books offered compared to previous sales which have always been based around current crazes and well known celebrity authors. Ella and all the creatures look so cute and I love how so many of the animals seen earlier on in some of the pages appear again as the story continues.There are lots of small things to spot in each double page image, so much so that I couldn’t help but just stare at each page for ages, taking in the wonderful and fun illustrations and the wonderful detail! I rated it 4 stars because I think there are some better books about friendship out there even though this one was sweet. Adorable in both story and illustrations, Ella's Night Lights tells the tale of a tiny fairy-like girl who comes out at night to gather light and share it with those in need. I am sure many children will enjoy this book, it’s the sort of picture book I would have adored as a child, due to both the lovely story and the beautiful pictures. Ella's Night Lights (Candlewick Press, November 24, 2020) written and illustrated by Lucy Fleming follows a whimsical being of the forest. Illustrations: Cute and detailed, definitely made the story feel last a little longer as I lingered in them.

Ella and her animal friends are absolutely adorable and their friendship makes this a truly special story! Like The Star Maker’s Apprentice, this picture book is one that demands snuggling up with, reading together, often and lovingly. Your words, like your reviews, bring books to life and give them a voice before the front cover is even turned. Yourself and Bob are much cherished in our booky world and I personally really appreciate everything that you do. The narrative, whilst cute and an animal friendship story, was a bit less captivating but still perfect for a festive story or bedtime tale.

Yesterday a parent came over to tell me how impressed she was by the book fair and that you did a fabulous job of selling the books to the children first.
