it does say it needs 2 usb sockets for enough power from a games console though so it might be a no go on the humax. I thought that the Freesat app was supposed to be able to stream recordings from the main box - not sure if it can? Not bothered about that – we have a TV in the bedroom that hasn’t been switched on in about 5 years and I only ever switch the TV on in the kitchen when there is football/rugby/F1/athletics/netball on (and I just use a Firestick for those occasions). Newer models often come with support for 4K Ultra HD and HDR, which offer stunning picture quality and vibrant colours.

EIther a couple of Linux Enigma2 boxes with a network storage device to save your recordings too or something like TVHeadend software. We used to have a Logitech universal remote which was brilliant but I gather they don't make them any more. You can still watch On Demand content if you have an Ethernet cable (not supplied) to connect your internet router directly to the box. Before you can get Freesat up and running on your TV, you’re going to need two things: a dish, if you don’t already have one, and either a TV that supports Freesat or a set-top box. I may just look at getting a freesat box that will allow me to access the recordings via DLNA, as this should be sufficient. Software upgrades have made it even easier to scan through the EPG and set up recordings, complete with series link to record the whole series. In fact, you can record up to four shows at once, so while you’re settling in to watch a movie, your Freesat 4K TV Box will also be hard at work recording the other shows you liked the look of.
