Bosch Indego S+ 400 Connect has a USB port which is used to update its software in case you couldn’t create over-air connection temporarily or for some other reason.
Initially, there likely won’t be a PIN code, so you have to set it up first using the keypad. And try not to forget the PIN code once you’ve created it! Bosch Indego S+ 400 Connect measures 44.5 cm x 36.4 cm x 20.2 cm / 17.5″ x 14.3″ x 8″ (length x width x height) and weighs 7.6 kg (or 16.76 lbs). Bosch Indego S+ 400 Connect is designed for gardens up to 400 m² (or 0.1 ac.) in size in which the slopes aren’t much steeper than 15° (or 27 percent). As was mentioned earlier, the charging and mowing cycle is automatic. SmartMowing is essentially an automatic mowing time scheduling feature whereby it determines the mowing schedule itself as per your garden layout. You can set one manually, too. Additionally, since it can connect to the internet via Wi-Fi, you can enable it to consider weather forecast for optimizing mowing times further. This all can be configured remotely via the app as well. install on top of the wire at an outer edge of the cutting area (not in the middle of cutting area). How quiet is 63 dB? Sources say it’s comparable to a normal conversation sound levels (around 60 dB). A regular motorized push mower sound levels are around 90 dB and can go up to 110 dB. While most robot mowers mow in a random pattern, Bosch Indego S+ 400 Connect features LogiCut Navigation System which allows it to first map out the garden and then mow it all efficiently row by row. It even remembers where it left off when it happens to return to the charging station in the middle of mowing. This mowing pattern system is about 30% faster that random mowing pattern.If your lawn is your pride and joy, the Bosch Indego S+ 500 is the mower to go for. It cuts more intelligently than most mowers because it cuts in a guided pattern, rather than bouncing around randomly. There’s no automatic zone feature for this Bosch Indego 350 robot mower. Instead what you get is 2 alternatives. The first one is MultiArea feature which allows you to set up up to 3 separate mowing areas each with their own charging station and perimeter wire loop. The second option is to create a zone no larger than 40 m² (0.0099 ac.) by extending the perimeter wire around that smaller zone. Bosch Indego 350 features tilt, lift, rollover, and collision sensors, but no rain sensor. With the exception of using LogiCut technology where it’s systematically mapping out the cutting area and mowing in parallel rows, but also remembering where it left off when it goes to recharge, as opposed to mowing randomly, it otherwise works much like a typical robot lawn mower would. Note that this non-connect version of Indego 350 does not feature remote control as it does not “connect” to the internet nor Bluetooth.It might not be for you if your garden layout was very complex and/or consisted of more than 3 larger zones or the slopes were steeper than 27% (or 15°) and you wanted cut height to be less than 30 mm (1.18″) or more than 50 mm ( 1.97″ ). Apart from the higher price and no remote control, I don’t really see a reason against going with this one – it gets the job done. By default, German products are associated with quality. Most robot mowers tend to ultimately come from China. A simple bump sensor rather than an ultrasonic one that detects obstacles from afar. So when it bumps into something, it simply changes the mowing direction.
Instead of randomly bouncing around your garden like more affordable robot mowers, the Bosch then works in stripes, efficiently starting at one end of the garden and mowing in lines until it’s all done. This doesn’t give you the same stripey lawn you’d expect from a mower with a roller, but some striping is still visible when it’s finished. More importantly, it hasn’t endlessly trundled over the same bits of lawn, so there’s much less wear and tear than we’ve seen with robot mowers that move randomly. Store your Indego in dry place out of reach of children and within a temperature range of -20°C and 50°C.What the Indego S+ doesn’t have is the ability to see its surroundings. It will navigate around objects but does this by bumping into them, rather than actually seeing and completely avoiding them. This is fine for your washing line but your sleeping dog might be less happy about it. You can expect quality from Germans. Most other robot mowers out there are ultimately made in China, even if at first glance it may not look like it. There are quite a few options to choose from. Bosch Indego 350 is a more expensive one among those robot mowers able to cover a lawn up to around 350 m² (0.087 ac.). If you preferred quality over price, and the features were right for you, this is a reliable option.
