About this deal

Out of all of my current crop, the V6 is one that’s staying. I would love to get my hands on a 280 again. I think it would be a great candidate for some Shootout/Comparison videos. Have you subbed my YT? I have some good stuff on there you may like as well!

If you look closely, you’ll see them used in many recording environments, whether budget home studios or top-tier recording studios. The isolation that they offer ensures that the audio you hear while wearing them will not bleed into any nearby headphones. It becomes a huge inconvenience, and to be quite honest I haven’t ever worn this outside of my home, though you may. Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro 80 Ohm - Amazing quality. The most cute and comfortable headphones I have ever had! Unfortunately, quite demanding towards the source. The high frequencies are a bit sharp to me, especially when the source is poor. Otherwise, a great professional tool! I'm still using the Xonar DGX outside of the DGX headphone amp for a source for lossless 16 and 24 bit music from my HDD or Tidal Hi Fi 16/44 until I'm convinced a separate DAC like the Schiit Modi or Modi Uber is a worthwhile upgrade from what I have now but I'm also inclined to use a studio interface.

Sennheiser built their HD 280 Pros to provide you with truly extraordinary isolation. A full 32dB of acoustic isolation makes HD 280 Pros real studio-workhorse headphones. For guitarists and especially drummers, this kind of isolation is absolutely critical, allowing you to clearly hear your headphone monitoring mix no matter how loudly you play. For vocalists, 32dB of isolation means never having to worry about your headphone mix bleeding into your sensitive vocal mic. It's easy to see why Sennheiser HD 280 Pro headphones are considered essential studio gear by many of today's top recording studios. Extreme comfort that lasts through long listening sessions More on that subject : http://www.head-fi.org/t/642401/comparison-and-review-magni-modi-vs-o2-odac/435#post_12373795

These are not headphones per se, more like a medieval head torture chamber than plays sound. Unusually, it's not the clamping force on the sides that causes issues, but on top. The headband is not shaped to fit human heads, but rather one of the square flat heads that the sentient humanoid robots that make Sennheiser products have, I guess. These are great headphones. They're comfortable, neutral, display good recordings in glory, are easy to drive, look decent depending on your style, are durable and have an easy to replace cord/pads if anything does go wrong. They sound AMAZING with an amp, but great with an iPod, Cowon, Android, etc. If you aren't looking for a very flat, untouched sound signature, don't buy these and make people think they aren't good because they weren't your taste. These 'phones are for a very obsessive, analytical listener, and they're damn good for the price. They easily beat my "cost effective" bookshelf speakers- Polk Tsi100, Cerwin Vega XD3, Insignia bass reflex, JBL Control One and a few others when am not using them for nearfield listening where the sparkly shine really stands out and can only be matched by the Audio Technica Ath AD700 or KRK KNS 8400. I have no idea what Sennheiser was thinking when they made these, but they are definitely not something I’d ever recommend for mixing.Let’s move onto a sweeter part. One of the first things often asked when shopping for headphones, is “But, how does the bass sound?”. The Sennheiser HD280 does not disappoint. Unlike many studio monitoring headphones in its price range, the HD280 has a solid bass which extends down to 10 Hz, giving the low-end frequencies, especially its sub-bass a prominent yet natural sound. They’re primarily constructed from a robust plastic material, which, at first glance, appears sturdy and durable. The Schitt Magni output power is rated at ~ double the Maximum for the HD 280's 64 ohms so it's a good pairing IMO I don’t know if the cup material breaks down over time as the M50 and 7506 do, but leave a comment below if you have any insight into this. Mobility Definitely play these HD 280's at least on an entry level Schiit Magn i amp or something like that . HD 280's can use the extra mW and headroom for dynamic peaks ,clarity and impact you can't get out of onboard PC audio or most PDP's and d/Soundcards.

The Sennheiser HD 280 Pro looks a fair bit like an old telephone receiver on your head. (Telephones are things we used to use to talk vocally with each other). It doesn’t matter though, because everything else about these headphones is completely perfect. Alex Rowe, medium.com

If you do, be prepared for people to look at you like you got a flower pot head, kid. Lol, that was taken directly from a Wu-Tang intro. Pros
