About this deal

So, I'm not the biggest ACOTAR fan. Everyone knows... I'll shut up about it someday. But I couldn't make it pass the awful first introduction to a series that book continues to be. It's a through away- a waste of paper and time. Again, I have strong feelings about it. But the absolute betrayal of a plotline that book made me experience feels similar to how I think this series will unfold when it comes to timing and pacing. That said, some pagan links persisted in the new religion. According to the Greek writer Pausanias, the rose obtained its red colour from the blood of Aphrodite (Venus), who cut her feet on the thorns of a rosebush while rushing to her dying lover, Adonis. These ties to blood and death were later incorporated in the rose as a symbol for Christ. “[Christ’s] five bleeding wounds,” writes McLean, “were the five petals of the red rose, his crown of thorns the thorns of the rose bush”.

The plot of the book in the beginning feels like a lot of info dumping, but it gets better. I like the banter, the fight scenes, the betrayel, the revenge and the plottwists which kept the book very entertaining. Once I hit about the 65% mark, I was hooked. Real action started to happen and things were heating up. I definitely know I want more Draven (especially with that cliffhanger ending).Sweet Sweet Girls' Talk • Sparkling Declaration • Floor of the Starry Sky • RED MOUNTAIN • Aikatsu Melody! • Jewel Star Friendship☆ • Rainbow-Colored Encore • Good day, Good night • Chocolat Show・Time • Excitement Antenna • Sunny Day Little Sunday • Forbidden Hide & Seek • Cosmic・Stranger • Ragtime of the Moonlit Night • We are STARS!!!!!

I appreciated that most of the main characters were women, Merlin, Morgan, and Lancelet. I also appreciated that there were characters interested in the same sex. While this book feels like it's supposed to end up being spicy, it feels more like steamy than spicy. Unless this is just setting everyone up for spicy in the second book. Modern portrayals in popular culture usually let her play the role of a villain because of the menace the character exemplifies, but in the book she does not fill that purpose. She is just one of the many obstacles that Alice has to encounter on the journey, but unlike other obstacles, she makes a higher potential threat. i am gonna start this off by saying, i HATE vesper. i hated him from the moment he asked morgan to- yeah not going there. i had bad vibes from the start from him and to see the BETRAYAL he put her though. i am deeply angry. The _omappvp cookie is set to distinguish new and returning users and is used in conjunction with _omappvs cookie. I really enjoyed this book. I think I enjoyed the world-building and plot a lot more than the romance aspect. This is definitely a slow burn for anyone who is wondering. I think for this book it completely worked out! It is definitely giving me From Blood and Ash vibes and I really enjoy that!

Happy Crescendo • Adult Mode • stranger alien • Arabian Romance • Melody of Heart • Dancing☆Baby • Friend • KIRA☆Power Arthur, Florian and Vesper - honestly, I don’t think I’ve ever hated characters in a book as much as I hate the three of them but that’s a good thing bc the author wrote them well lol. The only thing I really disliked was that the spicy scenes were sorta awkward and I feel like the book could’ve been fine without them (pretty sure that was on purpose though bc Morgan was supposed to be inexperienced and we’re seeing it from her POV).
