The composition is not overly complex. A note of creamy, milky gardenia has replaced the zesty orange blossom from the original. Smooth sandalwood, foody cinnamon and white musk shine through in the drydown. There's a hint of minty-green freshness throughout this composition, which smells slightly reminiscent of organic toothpaste.

Final Facet, a touch of musk and sandalwood. Soft, sensual and beguiling Sandalwood. As a sandalwood freak/addict, this is my favorite facet. It gives me a magical scent, a perfume that evokes a wild but calm nature, the perfect signature fragrance for the elves of the Lothlórien forest, a strange gourmand for those of us who have tried rhubarb-based pastries.Aura MUGLER is a unique Ambery Floral Carnal fragrance with instinctive notes that vibrate and pulsate. It fuses floral freshness and feline sensuality. Aura Sensuelle is very close to Aura EDP, closer than the notes list suggests. Vanilla and rhubarb are toned down by a lot, but they're still there as a part of the unmistakable Aura DNA which I'd summarize as 'eating custard in the jungle'. Very leafy and green, but also sweet and creamy and kind of reminiscent of woodruff flavored goodies. In Sensuelle, floral notes were added to make the scent softer and less punchy. I would not have guessed gardenia, but when you know it, it makes sense as a note. Like some plush, velvety white petals floating above all the green leaves. The cinnamon leaf note is also very subtle, I only detect it in because I know it's there. It's a nice little twist, but I wish these two notes were stronger to give the perfume more of a unique, distinct personality. There was a sweet smell from all the elements sun,water, flowers merging and Integrating that this perfume truly captures. Because of this creamy texture and intense sweetness, I don't recognise it as rhubarb like in Hermès Rhubarbe Ecarlate, which is much more juicy, more sparkling and natural-smelling. The only people I'd say could blindbuy this were people who get on with complicated compositions like OG Alien. I could definitely see this smelling drastically different based on body chemistry. I think that's why so many people have strong opinions.By the time I walked from the store to my car... I was already beginning to realize the consequences of my little blind-spray experiment. Perhaps I should have drawn some conclusions about the juice from the color of the bottle. (I try not to judge a book by its cover, but maybe I should have suspected that the color green might signify something in this case.) What I experienced was... mentholated, to say the least. If you miss Ricci Ricci, this is her grassy springtime cousin. It's quirky, in a unique way same as Alien. They smell nothing alike, but share that same strong bold personality. If Alien smells sexy to you, this will come off as a fruity gentle dream. If you aren't into bold, attention seeking scents, avoid. But I'm a weirdo with a big personality, so I love this. It delivers sweet, green, aromatic, indolic floral, spicy, aquatic, powdery/ sunscreen/ cosmetic, and balsamic tones, all together.

Sillage is good. Another person will be fairly close to you to enjoy the scent, perhaps leaning in. It seems to be one of those perfumes which smells different to different people. For instance I get a lot of sweetness and fruits with something really aromatic that I can't put my finger on. It smells bright and fresh but it also smells airy if it's breezy and u catch a waft of it. Saying that though my sister smelt it on me and was like "omg that stinks what are you wearing its horrible" she gets the menthol and medicinal smell people have mentioned so out of curiosity I went around my family in the room one by one to see what they got from it lol .. And Aura began to project. And project. And... project!!! It filled my nostrils. It filled the car. Given half a chance, I suspect it might have attempted to conquer the world. (So, if this works on you, congratulations -- longevity and sillage are impeccable.) The volume of vanilla soon escalates to the max, and pushes the interesting tropical greenery aside. Combined to the potent fruity sweetness, Aura actually smells very much like typical commercial fruity tonka-vanilla gourmand fragrances on today's market. There's also an artificial, peppery smoky note mixed within, screechy like nails on the chalkboard. Meanwhile, the orange blossom seems to only bring its grape-y sweetness to the table, further enhancing the fruity vanilla gourmand impression. I can hardly notice any floral aspect.
