About this deal

Hose-end sprayers are made of plastic, polyurethane, and metal parts. Virtually all sprayers use polypropylene (a type of plastic) reservoirs or jars to hold the chemicals they mix with water to create fertilizers, pesticides, herbicides, and other lawn and plant treatments. This is because polypropylene is lightweight, won’t rust like metal, and can withstand acid and other chemicals without melting. The metering dial on the top of the sprayer was another highlight. It offered 16 dilution settings, giving us precise control over the concentration of the applied solution. Adjusting the dial took just a twist—the numbers are clearly engraved and easy to see. Many don’t require premixing chemicals. Many hose-end sprayers do the mixing for you, allowing you to add chemicals directly to the reservoir. This minimizes mess and exposure to harmful chemicals. It works at water pressures between a minimum of 1.5 bars and a maximum of 5 bars, and provides an application rate of 14-litres/minute at 4 bars.

We were impressed with the performance of the Chapin G362 professional hose-end sprayer. It features an easy-to-grip hand-trigger nozzle. PLEASE NOTE: Turf, Wildflower Turf, Sedum Mats and bulk Bag products are delivered on a pallet and can only be delivered to the kerbside.

Nematode application methods– Nematodes are supplied as a powder, which is mixed with water and applied directly to the soil with :- We followed the instructions to clean the sprayer after use, which required us to turn it upside down and run water through the jar. This rinsing took less than a minute and cleared out all the fertilizer residue. Using the Miracle-Gro Performance Organics Garden Feeder is a straightforward three-step process. Fill the tank with fertilizer (the first fertilizer feeding is included), connect the sprayer to the hose, turn on the water, and start spraying. One of the standout features of this sprayer is the clear reservoir, which makes it easy to monitor the soap level. We could tweak the desired water-to-soap ratio by attaching the nozzle to the hose and adjusting the dial on the top. The inclusion of eight spray patterns enhances its versatility. Fixed-rate sprayers use a set ratio that the user cannot change, while sprayers with an adjustable flow have a dial that lets the user tweak the mix ratio. To alter the ratio in a fixed-rate sprayer, one must dilute the chemicals in a separate container prior to adding them to the reservoir.

The Chapin G362 has a translucent white tank and measurements in millimeters and ounces so we could easily see how much concentrated liquid we were adding to the tank. This sprayer accommodates only concentrated liquid products—it’s not for use with granular products. We appreciated the wire flip mechanism that enabled continuous water flow without us needing to maintain pressure on the sprayer. These settings can also control the range of the sprayer. A spray pattern that produces higher pressure will be strong enough to reach the branches of trees, whereas a lighter spray will be gentle enough to apply pesticide to a flower bed without damaging the plants. Shower: The shower setting most closely mimics rain. This pattern has a longer range and higher output than mist while still producing gentle pressure that won’t damage smaller plants. It’s suitable for treating lawns, gardens, shrubs, and flower beds with hardier plants. There are two ways to apply liquid fertilizer: Either add the liquid fertilizer to the sprayer’s reservoir or, if compatible, attach the bottle of liquid fertilizer directly to the hose-end sprayer’s nozzle by removing the reservoir and attaching the bottle. Q. How do I clean a hose-end sprayer? Most hose-end sprayers dilute water at ratios between 1 ounce and 16 ounces of chemicals per gallon. Adjustable-flow sprayers allow you to set the mix ratio. Q. How do you use a hose-end sprayer? The Willcrew also comes with a soft microfiber washing mitt. This bonus accessory enhances the car-washing experience by providing a gentle and effective means of wiping away dirt or mud during cleaning.

I agree with Kristen and use slow release feed in March every year. I do feed my plants with a very dilute feed a few times during summer as well, but that's more to give them a different feed such as seaweed and is probably superfluous but I enjoy doing it. I do feed the flowering plants such as Fuchsias and Roses with tomato feed in between as well. If you’re using a spray gun as opposed the the standard hose nozzle, you have to detach it the gun before feeding it through.A hose-end sprayer consists of a reservoir that holds chemicals for treating landscaping and a nozzle that distributes the water. It uses a standard hose fitting that connects to a standard garden hose. When the hose turns on, the water runs through the nozzle, which mixes chemicals with water before spraying it. Q. How much volume can a hose-end sprayer produce? Hose-end feeder– Used for applying nematodes to larger areas i.e. up to 200 sqm. This feeder can also be used for applying liquid feed to plants and lawns. Attaches via standard hose-pipe connector and features both a rose head and jet spray as well as an on / off switch for water flow. We supply the Miracle Gro Hose-end Feeder as not all of them are suitable for applying nematodes. With the helpful instruction manual, setting up your personal watering schedule is a doddle with no complex programming required. While the Chapin G362 performed admirably, it only provides a single spray pattern resembling a fan that shoots slightly downward. This spray pattern treated low shrubs, flowers, and similar areas well. However, this sprayer may have limited versatility for applications requiring different spray patterns. Fine as Rain no.14 Rose– Watering cans need to be fitted with a coarse rose, which will allow the nematodes to flow easily. We recommend using the Haws Rose no.14, as not all roses are suitable – its large holes will not clog when applying nematodes.

A hose-end sprayer’s capacity determines how much area it can treat before requiring a refill. The capacity is based on two factors: the amount of product the reservoir can hold and the ratio of chemicals to water the sprayer uses. Hose-end sprayer reservoirs usually hold between 16 and 32 ounces of liquid chemicals. Higher-capacity sprayers can treat wider areas, such as lawns, trees, and long rows of shrubbery, while smaller models are suitable for vegetable gardens and flower beds. For larger Spraying Jobs i.e. for applying Nemasys Fruit and Vegetable Protection to hedges to control Box Tree Caterpillar, the 5 litre Rechargeable Sprayer is ideal. Once you have programmed it for the first time, it will auto adjust to coincide with daylight as the seasons change. It can be used on a multi 2 / 3 way tap connector, to give you access to the tap for washing the car/ filling watering cans, or it can be fitted straight to the tap and doesn’t need a tap adaptor to fit. It comes with the same adaptors as the Metal Threaded Connector above. Glenda Taylor is a product tester and writer specializing in the construction, remodeling, and real estate industries. She tests a wide range of power tools as well as other home improvement, household, and lawn-and-garden products. Turn the tap fully on and squeeze the trigger to start feeding. Hold the feeder in the upright position and apply the plant feed evenly, thoroughly wetting the soil around the roots and the foliage. Feeder tends to leak if the hose fitting is not tightly secured, indicating potential issues with the inside washer Limited to a single spray pattern, which may not meet the requirements for all product applications
