About this deal

Glaco DX utilises the newly developed SARF (Strong Adhesion + Rapid Finish) technology, which shortens bonding time between the coating and glass to just 5 minutes. Polishing the coating has become amazingly easy, and the strength of the bond guarantees durability for up to 4 months. In addition, the coating forms an ultra-smooth film that repels water with unparalleled power and speed. Thanks to its properties, Glaco DX is useful not only on rainy days. In winter, it will reduce the formation of frost and ice, and throughout the rest of the year, it will protect the glass against dirt, making daily maintenance easier. Soft99 Protection time is a fantastic limited edition kit put together by Soft99 to celebrate their anniversary. This boxed kit includes: Soft99 Fusso, Soft99 Ultra Glaco and a FREE Soft99 Glaco Compound. Glaco DX is the latest generation of the Glaco glass coating range, providing unprecedented water repellency, ease of application and ergonomics of use. Try Glaco DX and discover the highest level of safety and comfort while driving in the rain. When it was eventually sunny enough to apply, the process was straightforward but took the most time here. You’re provided with four applicator pads and really need to apply three layers to get the absolute best protection possible. You then need to apply the G2 Residue Remover (also included) to prevent streaking before leaving the whole thing to set for at least three hours.

Prepare the windshield by carefully hand-washing it with a pH-neutral shampoo, drying it and decontaminating its surface using a clay bar, compound cleaner or other product of this kind. Glaco products work best if the glass surface is cleaned beforehand with Glaco Glass Compound Roll On. Tested Ryan Gilmore: An absolute pain to apply, Gtechniq G1 requires a good half days’ worth of sunshine to properly cure on the car’s windscreen. With the British weather the way it is, the application was delayed on no less than two occasions owing to approaching rain. It’s best to have a garage or at least a gazebo if you’re planning to apply this. After this, Gtechniq recommends not letting the glass get wet for 12 hours, but the end results will be 20,000 miles of hydrophobic protection, by far the best out of any rain repellents we've seen. Prepare your car by carefully hand-washing it with a pH-neutral shampoo, drying it and decontaminating its surface using a clay bar, cleaner or other product of this kind.

Invaluable not only during rain and storm

A seriously impressive option for total windscreen protection, Gtechniq's G1 features an almost tediously long and complex application process. There are two stages to the application process, the G1 Smart Glass (which requires three layers for the best results) followed by a curing time and then some G2 Residue Remover. Tested Ryan Gilmore: Originally developed for use on motorcycle helmets, an area where there’s no wiper action to help shift water, Vision + needed to be a capable option for removing water. Now available in a larger size for cars, Vision + proved to be an outstanding option, offering excellent water beading and glass cleaning action, all from a spray that required no curing time and took a couple of seconds to apply. Visibility will be your number one priority if applying a rain repellent to a car. In the same way that visibility is no.1 when applying some de-icer. After all, the sole job of a rain repellent is road safety, keeping water from congregating on your windscreen. A good rain repellent will see rain beading straight off the windscreen, leaving the road ahead clear. A poor rain repellent may, however, leave a smear on the glass, particularly in sunny or low-light conditions. This hampers visibility when it’s not raining and is a fairly irritating thing to deal with.

The Glaco DX Glass Set 3pcs is a comprehensive solution for effortlessly cleaning, protecting, and maintaining the clarity of your car windows. This set includes three essential products: the 10308 Glaco Glass Compound Roll On, the 04957 Glaco DX liquid wiper, and the 04111 Glaco De Cleaner. There’s little benefit to a rain repellent if it’s convoluted to apply or has an insanely long curing time (how long it takes before you can get it wet). With this in mind, this two-stage approach does take longer but the results last much longer.

A versatile glass compound cleaner

Glaco is a family of water repellent coatings and products for cleaning glass surfaces. Thanks to unique, Japanese technology, Glaco has been making driving in the rain comfortable and safe for car owners all over the world for 30 years. Once your windows are clean, the Glaco DX (04957) liquid wiper comes into play. This innovative product forms a protective coating on your windows, providing extreme water shedding capabilities. When driving in the rain, the water droplets will simply roll off the windows, greatly enhancing visibility and ensuring safer driving conditions. This coating lasts for several months, allowing you to enjoy its benefits for an extended period. Apply the compound onto the glass by applying pressure, then move the applicator around in criss-cross motion, polishing the surface. To maintain the effectiveness of the coating and keep your windows in optimal condition, the Glaco De Cleaner (04111) is included in the set. This cleaner is specifically designed to remove contaminants that may accumulate on the window surface over time, such as dust, pollen, and smudges. Regular use of the Glaco De Cleaner helps to preserve the water-shedding properties of the Glaco DX coating, ensuring long-lasting clarity and safety. It requires no buffing or curing time, instead wiping straight off after spraying it on. It's not the most refined of products, and the protection offered can be measured in weeks, not months, but it's good value for money and will also double as a decent glass cleaner too.

Take the cap off and apply it evenly on a dry windshield in a criss-cross motion. Do not apply it on wet surface, as it may cause damage to the surface. Polish the residue with a clean and dry microfiber cloth, frequently changing the sides of the microfiber or replacing it with a new one. Work until you achieve a satisfying effect. Application is also worth paying attention to. There are three options; spray-on, roll-on and applicator-applied examples. Each has its pros and cons, with spray-on options the easiest to apply but least durable and applicator examples vice versa. Rain repellents are similar to car waxes in many ways, sometimes featuring minimum temperatures and directions to apply out of direct sunlight. Longer-lasting options may also feature a curing time. Once you’ve finished, you can embrace a moist-free car interior if you decide to opt for an in-car dehumidifier. What about durability? Spread a thin and even layer of wax on the paintwork in a criss-crossmotion, working panel by panel. The Glaco Compound is applied to clean glass and is really easy to use (squeeze the body and use the attached foam applicator) and while it may look like a beige wax, it will turn whiter as it’s worked into the glass. Its job is to break down any existing rain repellents as well as any stubborn oils that aren’t shifted during regular shampooing. Once applied you simply hose the Compound off and your glass is ready for a coating. The usual rule of thumb has been that the better the protection, the more complex and expensive the application. SOFT99 aim to change this with an affordable, simple to apply rain repellent that offers long-term hydrophobic protection. What is it? A simple squeeze of the orange bottle will deliver the repellent onto the foam pad, which you then pull across the windscreen, leaving a small visible streak as you do. After this, it's simply a case of leaving it for up to 10 minutes before wiping it with a microfibre towel. The results last for two months and don't leave any nasty smearing or cause juddering wipers.

A classic rain repellent, Rain-X is readily available and quite possibly the best-selling rain repellent range here in the UK. The big benefit to Rain-X is the ease of application.Primarily designed to clean and protect motorcycle helmets, Vision + from Autobrite Direct is our top choice for combining a glass cleaner with a hydrophobic layer of protection. Vision + promotes some serious water beading and is perfectly safe to apply to most translucent materials, including glass, acrylic and Perspex. Wait about 5-8 minutes until the wax binds with the paintwork. The higher temperature, the shorter time needed.
