About this deal

In addition, the inside of the capo is lined with rubber, you can fine-tune the tension by squeezing the capo into position. G7th Capo – BEST Options

The Shubb capo design combined with both the speed of a trigger capo, and the precision of a screw capo… Primarily a guitar capo is used for changing the key of your instrument. For example, if you place a capo on the second fret of your guitar and play the chord shape that would ordinarily be an open E major, you’ll now be playing an F# major instead. This can be really useful when working with different singers, as they may need the pitch of the song changed to match their respective vocal range. I previously had 2 spider capos about 5 years ago and they had great potential as the catalyst for yielding very fruitful creative output. unfortunately, they were lost and I had some unfortunate turbulent, traumatic years where I so wasn't in the position to be creative. A capo is fastened or clamped across the strings of your guitar, essentially changing the tuning of your instrument in one fell swoop. Instead of changing the pitch down it changes it up – albeit only for the open strings, as your fretted notes remain the same. Your capo will also change the feel of your guitar strings, as it shortens the scale length when applied.

However, the Gear4music extended warranty scheme provides an enhanced service, and is designed to offer a higher level of protection than many 'free' warranties offered by some retailers and manufacturers. If you play a C chord here (in position zero ‘0’, which is an open chord, with no capo) , then surprise, surprise, this chord will be C! This is the C chord you know and love. The spider capo will probably be best suited for acoustic fingerstyle guitarists rather than electric guitar players. We say this for two reasons, firstly, capos in general are more widely used by acoustic guitarists anyway. And secondly because it kind of prevents string bending. What Are The Main Advantages Of Using The Spider Capo? Ultimately your first consideration when choosing one of the best capos should be to choose one that fits your guitar. Most brands offer a range of options, so if you see a capo you like, there’ll probably be one designed to fit your guitar. Just make sure you DON'T buy imitations, you will most likely get ripped off with something that doesn't work or at best have a greatly inferior product.

Additionally, because the entire mechanism is different than the standard clamp style capo, you can actually adjust the tension placed on each string individually, which is an added bonus that can help you tweak out any buzzing that might occur. Change Tunings On The Fly There are two tabs that hang off the left and right sides of the inside of the capo. I pointed them out in the image above. The use of a capo can just be as simple as transposing an open chord progression to a different key, or as complicated as revoicing a chord progression for two guitars during recording. It also offers up some interesting possibilities when using open strings, as you can use the same open chord shapes with drastically different results, giving you chords that wouldn’t be possible to fret without the capo applied. A guitar capo is basically a clamp that you can apply at any point on the fretboard. You open the ‘clamp’ and move it to wherever you want it to be on the fretboard. Then you close it, and the capo presses all the strings down.Partial capos can be hugely empowering for a guitarist who wants to explore unusual and creative tunings . Please note that this extended warranty is currently only available on products sold within the UK, EU or EEA, and is subject to the terms and conditions as detailed on the extended warranty certificate provided. Time to adjust tension – Because the screw capo requires you to manually clamp the capo to the fretboard means that you will need more time to fit it to your Guitar

I often see beginner guitarists attaching most capos incorrectly. The most common mistake I see people make is they don’t take enough care when releasing the capo’s handle. For example, one of the main reasons ‘Here Comes the Sun’ by the Beatles sounds so unique is it has a capo on the 7th fret. Because the fingers are easy enough to adjust individually, if you can think of a way to use the Spider Capo in this fashion, you could technically change tunings mid song, without too much difficulty. One example might be moving from a major tuning to a minor tuning mid stream. Alternate guitar tunings can be so much fun, but they’re often a bit clunky to work with on the fly. This can change that quite easily. The Bottom Line The scale length of the bass guitar versus the electric guitar – basses can also use capos, by the way (my guide) And that’s pretty much the brunt of how you make a spider capo to your liking. That said, there are some minor details that I think are worth looking into. I’ll probably show you some of the more common tunings to use as well.Adapt your Guitar chords with the Singer’s voice – by being able to change key effortlessly you can easily experiment to find the best key your singer can sing in. You might be confused by all this talk of fretboard radiuses, but you needn't be. Radius refers to the curvature of this vital part of your guitar. Some guitars (like certain vintage Fenders) feature rounded boards, whereas others are near flat. While each has its own benefits, suffice it to say that different fretboard designs represent a compromise in capo design.
