About this deal

Bad books don't exist. They might not be your cup of tea, but that does not say anything about the quality of the book. There are a lot of good and very good books and of course some are excellent. I could call them gems or pieces of art or masterpieces. Well, this one definitely deserves a place in the last category. Sam thinks he has his future all worked out. A thriving career, lovely home and an amazing fiancée. But when tragedy strikes, he finds himself alone, far from everyone he cares about. Did he do the right thing by running away and trying to rebuild the tatters of his life alone? While Barney loves his life at Bumblebee Barn - a farm that has been in his family for generations - he's struggling to find someone to share it with. The early mornings quad biking through muddy fields and the long hours looking after the crops and animals are proving to be a deterrent to finding love. Wow oh wow what a book. Not only is the cover absolutely sparkling with Christmas Charm, it's also an Enchanting Story filled with many surprises. Just like opening a present. The gift that keeps on giving!

Before I start my review, I have to do a Simon Baker appreciation, because, like me and fellow blogger Rae Reads, it appears Jessica has a “thing” for Simon Baker. Especially as the male lead in this book Jed Ferguson shares an uncanny resemblance for him. Ahem… Cue the reappearance of Jed, the conniving previous owner of the cafe, and Tara's perfect armour begins to crumble. Christmas at The Chocolate Pot Café will definitely evoke all of your emotions, it's a wonderfully Heartwarming read, with plenty of surprises, with a sprinkle of mystery and romance. I loved Alison from the very beginning, and hurt for her: Karen with her professional and efficient veneer took a little longer, and Danniella’s secrets made her intriguing but initially more difficult to understand. By the book’s close, I loved them all unconditionally: the powerful friendship that develops between them is so well drawn, with their support for each other as they try to find themselves, and work out what will bring them the happiness they all deserve.

Because of her past she has not let anyone into her life for over ten years, except for her giant house rabbit named Hercules. It has been a delight to work with Boldwood who have delivered everything they promised and so much more. Emotionally, Tara Porter finds the festive period a challenge. Christmas Day is a reminder of the family she lost, and New Year’s Eve holds bitter memories of the biggest mistake of her life: marrying Garth Tewkesbury. Shunning invitations to celebrate, she seeks refuge in her flat with only her giant house bunny, Hercules, for company. This story was the perfect soothing balm for the weary soul when life got overwhelming. Every word written by Jessica had the power to heal me from the inside out. The story bespoke of hope and joy amidst pain and heartbreak and laid the spotlight firmly on strength in friendships. What she does is care and try to stop people from getting hurt. Even when people treat her like crap and betray her in the worst possible way. Even when they don’t deserve her friendship or compassion. Even when they keep pushing her away, she’s there waving her olive branch and letting them know she’ll always be there for them, no matter what."

I love my little getaway to the north Yorkshire coast with my new favorite author Jessica Redland. Every time I start a book by her I can't seem to put it down. I even decided to keep my kindle unlimited subscription just so I can work on the rest of her books, starting with this series. When we write about a setting, most authors will do so visually and that’s absolutely needed. But a setting is truly brought to life when we use the other senses because the combination of senses are what really transports the readers into our world. Emerging from an unhappy relationship, Tori finds herself with nowhere to stay and nobody to talk to. The long-hidden secrets of her past weigh heavily on her until a chance encounter with Finley, struggling to come to terms with his own secrets, provides an opportunity to open up. I would love to live somewhere like Whitsborough Bay, there is a feeling of family and togetherness as everyone wants to help everyone, they are friends and supportive and there is just a magical feel to it all. Tara has always held others at a distance, refusing to let anyone in to her life. She has no friends and co workers don’t really know too much about her and that is all because of what happened to her in the past. STARRY SKIES OVER THE CHOCOLATE POT finds Tara finally deciding to try and do better and takes a big leap of faith. She decides to share more about herself with the other shop owners and her co workers. This is such a big step for her since she was shredded by every single person she loved and cared about and she is afraid to let others know the truth. Tara left her family 14 years ago because of being betrayed by some on the closest people to her that she thought loved and cared for her. How can your heart not break for her trying to let go of her past?

Tara has had just a difficult past, and she has until this year, in this book kept it a secret from everyone in Whitsborough Bay, but Christmas is the catalyst for many things and she is finally ready to start telling her story to best friend Carly. It ended up being quite an entertaining, fun and enjoyable read. There were quite a few laugh out moments and I even shed a few tears. AND, there were a couple of fist pumps in the air!! Right on, girl! I enjoyed this one much better than Searching for Steven which can only mean, Jessica Redland is getting better. I look forward to her next book. Danniella is running from her past, so when she arrives at the beautiful seaside resort of Whitsborough Bay, the last thing on her mind is making friends. After all, they might find out her secrets…"This is the type of book that is like a guilty pleasure but with substance. The lead character is Callie Derbyshire, she is an optimistic character and she appears to have it all.She has a job she loves at Bay View a place where older retired people live and she puts her heart and soul into it. She has a flat she loves and she has an older boyfriend but their relationship seems to be hit and miss.
