I won't go through what this device can do as the tech specs on the product listing should be sufficient there. For those who use a custom RTMP server, it's a bit more advanced. This can only be configured by editing a particular XML file, which then reflects in the software after you restart it. It's definitely a feature that's meant for advanced users, so here's hoping that there will be a more user-friendly way to add a custom source directly in the software in the future. Performance Everybody is still in a euphoric state of mind about this Atem Mini Pro. I must admit that it includes me. However I can think of a few minors. I bought the Atem to reduce my editing time by changing to more 'live editing' during the broadcast or recording and to be able to live switch camera's without problems. Yes, you can live stream and record at the same time. The streaming quality setting will determine the quality of your recording. For example, if you set the streaming to Streaming Medium, then the recording will also be set to Streaming Medium automatically. This might result in recordings that are not as high as you like, so it might be better to choose a higher streaming quality if you want higher quality recordings. ATEM Mini Pro is a new, low cost live production switcher that can record, stream and monitor video. It includes a new hardware streaming engine to allow direct streaming via Ethernet to YouTube Live, Facebook and Twitch, as well as recording direct to USB flash disks in H.264. You can also use the USB Out to connect an external hard drive and write directly to disk. This is useful if you want to later edit a video before publishing it, or just want a direct copy of the stream without any quality loss. Obviously, if you’ve got a hard drive plugged in to the USB-C port, you can’t use the Mini Pro with your PC. Thankfully, you can still control it over Ethernet, but you won’t be able to add it to OBS or any other software without a direct connection. Only hdmi input1 is forgiving with a little weaker signal strength, the other inputs require high strength hdmi signal. (You need the best cables and I am taking no risk and am converting all longer then 5 meter distances to SDI connections with converters.
