About this deal

Doesn't allow me to have more than one map/level in the app. How am I supposed to use it in my basement, without having to redo the whole mapping? It is very quiet WHEN its running but when it’s on the base cleaning itself or filling up, it does get loud. Doesn't bother me but I thought it was important to mention that you place it away from say an office where your always on the phone. Thought it’s still a bit buggy, the Narwal robot mop and vacuum show promise as a less laborious way to clean uncarpteted floors. Vacuum bots like the Roomba have become a common sight in homes of all kinds -- but they have a cousin, a lesser-known robot cleaner with a different purpose. These smart mop robots clean hardwood surfaces with a cleaning spray mixture and pads. While they don’t handle debris, they are designed for hardwoods, vinyl, and other materials you would otherwise clean with a mop. One feature that I absolutely LOVE about Narwal is that you can real-time see where it’s at on the map, what path it has already cleaned and what it sees as its cleaning (like those internal walls). I would LOVE if Narwal would take that map it made while cleaning and use it to update the "real" map used for choosing what to clean.

A top-mounted LCD touchscreen lets you cue up cleanings without using the app, while most robovacs only give you a single button to press. I still preferred opening my phone, but it’s a convenient touch if you have kids or a significant other that can’t be bothered installing the app. So does this thousand dollar fancy robot machine make sense for your home? While I know some people must have the latest invention, I feel that Narwal wouldn’t make sense for people living in studios or small one bedrooms – unless cleaning floors is the bane of your existence like me. Place the base station against a wall and near an outlet, making sure there is more than 1m/40inches of clear space in front of the base station. So it is worth pointing out that remote camera viewing through the Narwal Freo app ( more on this later) is missing, even if most people won't notice or would even use it. You can of course program the robot to clean on a schedule—with separate programs for vacuuming and mopping. But you’ll need to gain an understanding of Narwal’s idiosyncratic menu language before you can do that.

Equipped with smart sensors and LIDAR navigation technology, the Narwal automatically sweeps and then mops laminate, linoleum, tile, hardwood, and other hard floor surfaces. And when it’s done, it even cleans itself! The unique triangle mop pads boast 30% more surface area and deliver more effective and seamless cleaning. What makes the T10 so unique is that after about five minutes or so of mopping, it will return to the base station to clean itself. Yes, you heard that right – it cleans the pads before resuming its mopping duties. Again, water is sprayed onto the pads which rotate inside the base station and rub against small grooves to dislodge dirt. The app allows you wash an area up to 3 times if preferred. I have my i-robot vacuum on a schedule and when it's complete, I receive a notification from the irobot app, then I send out the mop with the narwal app. I wish I could set the narwal to mop on a schedule behind the i-robots vacumming schedule. The Narwal app does NOT have an option for setting up a schedule. like, what!!!??? 🤔 I hope this is included in a near future update. Before you start a mopping run, you drop a detergent/antibacterial sheet into the Narwal T10 base station’s 5-liter (1.3-gallon) clean water tank (there’s an equal-sized waste-water tank). The detergent sheet instantly dissolves and disperses throughout the clean water. Wands inside the base station spray this water on the Narwal’s pads, and then the robot travels to the farthest point on its map and commences scrubbing the floor. “Scrubbing” is not an overstatement. The Narwal applies 10N (Newtons) of pressure to these pads as they spin. Michael Brown / IDG

The Narwal robot mop and vacuum can fit under counters and will recognize virtual boundaries around carpetes and furniture. Despite this unique self-cleaning mechanism, you’re going to want to pull off the pads from time to time and wash them properly by hand. Even after a cleaning in the base station, the pads were still quite dirty, so you’ll want to make sure that the pads are properly cleaned every few cycles.Mopping and sweeping are chores none of us really have time for, but are essential for good housekeeping. I just want to return home from work and my floors are cleaned. A fully automated system with minimal effort on my part is my objective. My dad saw my setup and says I'm lazy...but I think he low key wants one... lol...I would rather do something else than wash my floors... 📺 🏋 🎮 🚲🏃‍♂️

The Narwal T10 is a great mop and a very good vacuum; unfortunately, it’s nearly undone by an app that’s a bit of a mess. You can’t use the robot without the app, so don’t buy this robot vac/mop hybrid unless you’re willing to tolerate a steep learning curve—and a few bugs. I’ve concluded that the labor-saving benefits here are worth the pain, but my job has me learning and mastering new things almost every day. If you’re more of the “I just want it to work” mindset, steer clear of this product. Michael Brown / IDG While other robot mops have a small water reservoir plus a cloth that requires frequent removal for cleaning, Narwal's unique mop system features self-cleaning technology. Mopping starts at the farthest distance from the base station to avoid dirty mops covering already-cleaned floors. The 180 RPM high-speed spinning pads apply 10N pressure to the floor, much more powerful than manual power.Highly efficient filter of such robot vacuum mop traps small particles, debris, and unseen allergens with ease. Narwal Freo can be used on wood floors, laminate floors, and other smooth hard floors such as tiles and marble. If your floor surface is rough and uneven, then we do not recommend using a robot for cleaning. Narwal has to be one of the rare companies that truly stands behind their product and promises to customers. I researched and found in Asia, there is already new generation Narwal that are not yet available in the U.S. Although I had 2 units that leaked, and badly warped solid wood floors as the result, because Narwal's EXCELLENT customer service, I will try their new product again.
