About this deal

Case: Fractal Design Node 804 (yes, I got that 304 brings a pain with cable management and air flows) Having though this through, I decided that getting a modular ATX PSU is pointless. It raises the price and only results in compatibility issues in Node 304. :/ Befitting the Fractal Design Node 304's simple aesthetic is an equally simple assembly, but there are definitely measures that could've been taken to make it easier still. In its own way this is par for the course with Fractal Design's cases; they're easy to build but they could've optimized things even further. But quality of PSUs under 500W varies a lot more, because manufacturers have to keep the price down.

The problem i'm running into is with the fans connections. The case comes with a fan controller but there is no plugs on the power supply to plug in the 4 pin molex connector to power case fan controller. The fix is to change (what is currently) line 37 of node-fresh/index.js from if (cc && cc.indexOf('no-cache') !== -1) return false; First and foremost: because they won't fit in the case. But they're also (usually) out of my budget. Corsair is better in performance, is smaller, has shorter cables etc. And it has a passive mode, but I'm still worried about noise. It first came out without the support of dual-slot cards. Because it most likely only needed to fit a RAID card...I'm in the process of building my first freenas and am super excited! I'll admit I'm a newbie when it comes to building machines and was hoping you guys could help me out. My NAS specs are: Meanwhile, response codes in the 300s indicate redirection issues, such as the 301 and 302 redirects, used for permanent and temporary redirects. Metaluna - Friday, November 23, 2012 - link Seems to me that what we need is for the industry to standardize on a set of connectors for modular PSUs. That would allow an aftermarket to develop for modular PSU cables of any length you need. Like in this case it looks like the main power connector only needs to be around 8" or so, if that. There are outfits that sell custom modular cables for select PSUs (e.g. Seasonic X-series) but they are ridiculously expensive.

Regarding GPU: Have you thought of RX480 8GB? It's priced similarly to 1060, has a larger framebuffer and has a slight advantage in DX12 and Vulkan over GTX1060. Guspaz - Friday, November 23, 2012 - link You really don't need a super power supply in these things. The GeForce 680 has a TDP of 195W, the i7-3770 has a TDP of 77W. Those are the two most power hungry components, and you're only at 272 watts. Shuttle ships their mini ITX cases with a 500W PSU and certifies both of these components (actually up to 95W on the CPU, but I don't think any go that high yet). Those threats may interrupt or interfere with your system, including the header request. To identify and remove the threats from your system, run a malware scan. CPU Cooler: Intel heatsink from combo OR CoolerMaster V4 GTS (Optional) - I've it already from old PCI've read the fan gets very noisy on high RPM and, because it's temp-regulated, I'm worried what would happen in summer (when the ambient temp can reach 30*C)... Whether you're looking to build your very own NAS or a more compact cube PC, the Fractal Design Node 804 is a solid choice. It has excellent cooling performance thanks to its array of vents and countless fan mounts. The ability to install up to 10 3.5-inch drives is also a highlight feature, especially for servers with a lot of data to hold.
