About this deal

Cast and Crew Interviews (Disc 7, SD, 66 minutes): Additional interviews with the cast and crew. Up first, Kyle MacLachlan, At its best, the new Twin Peaks feels like witnessing something totally unprecedented, in which a TV network gave an artist – not "artist" in the coy way we talk about everyone in the entertainment industry, but a genuine creator of challenging and confrontational works of art – a healthy budget and free rein go absolutely bonkers, delivering his uncompromised vision straight from his subconscious to viewers' eyeballs for 18 hours. That's amazing, even revolutionary. David Lynch treats this opportunity as his magnum opus, the summation of his career, and tears loose with it in ways he never could on the original ABC series. What more could any fan possibly ask? Trailers (Disc 10, HD/SD, 5 minutes): Rounding out the 10-disc set are U.S. and international theatrical trailers for Fire Walk I got the Xfiles BluRay collection and found that its called Akte X, and all the episode names are in German, which makes it hard to find the favorites.

Sheryl Lee Interview (HD, 22 min.) – The actress talks about being cast initially only as a corpse and then watching her involvement with the series grow. She has very flattering things to say about working with David Lynch, Ray Wise, Grace Zabriskie and Frank Silva. She also talks about shooting the Partyland scene, getting into her character's head, and the experience of revisiting the role as a mother. Although Lee is charming and this is a good interview, she honestly doesn't say anything surprising or revelatory. It's a terribly strange epilogue yet so creepy, hypnotic and effective (particularly when Laura's speaking) that it's impossible to look away. to shrug off sampling of tinny, muffled or less than perfectly prioritized dialogue snippets. LFE output is weighty and haunting, exuding power at In the show's second episode (identified as Episode 1 after the pilot), a shot at time code 22:43 looks really poor, possibly even upconverted from standard definition. Fortunately, it's very brief and all the footage around it looks fine. I'll be honest that I have not had time yet to watch every episode, so it's possible that minor problems like this may occur elsewhere.Yeah, that cover art is an abomination. Let’s hope they use some original artwork or just go with the bend in the road and Twin Peaks sign from the intro. No need to “update” it for a 2014 audience. Keep it original like the show itself. UPDATE #2: David Lynch himself has now confirmed the upcoming Twin Peaks Blu-ray release and we have it on video! When: Twin Peaks Blu-ray Release Date While there were two previous DVD releases of Twin Peaks, the new Blu-ray release, called The Entire Mystery, still stands out for several reasons. First, of course, is the upgrade to HD, with a gorgeous looking re-mastered image that takes a show that always visually stood out and makes it look even more vibrant and lush. And then there’s the inclusion of the feature film prequel, Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me.It’s been a long road getting all of Twin Peaks in one box set, thanks to the various companies involved. It wasn’t until 2007, after prior VHS and DVD releases left it out, that fans even got the show’s pilot episode included with the rest of the series, thanks to the initial deal for the pilot TV movie making it a separate release, with a different distributor (and ending!). And with New Line releasing Fire Walk With Me, that company had handled the show’s decent previous DVD release. Now though, fans can finally enjoy all of the story in one set, with all of it looking better than ever in HD (Fire Walk With Me had never had a Blu-ray release before either). Other new extras include a new sit down Lynch himself has with Lee, Zabriskie and Wise, which is split into two sections. In one, he speaks to them in-character as Laura, Sarah and Leland, asking them how they are now (Yes, even if their respective character is dead). The other is Lynch having a more down to Earth chat with the three about their memories and reflections about working on the series. In both cases, it’s really interesting material. There is also a new documentary focused on the making of Fire Walk With Me and how it was received when it opened. It’s obvious the interviews used here were not recorded recently, but in the past few years (actors look a bit different than they do now, and the late Don S. Davis makes an appearance), but it’s a well done and insightful inclusion.

Twin Peaks: A Limited Event Series [Blu-ray] [2021]

solved and answers proving... divisive, Twin Peaks was forced to dramatically reorient and restructure, a necessity that slowly sent Original Promos (Disc 3, HD/SD, 5 minutes): "There's No Place Like Home," "T-Shirt Ad," "Holiday Greeting," "Patriot Greeting" and Lynch is meticulous about his sound design, and the mix here consistently makes interesting (often unsettling) use of ambient sounds, subtle effects, and quietness. It also has big swings in dynamic range. Any given scene can shift from a whisper to a thunderous blare of noise without warning. Bass occasionally digs deep, but mostly resides in the mid-range spectrum. remastered as the series' image. Contrast and clarity are generally pleasing, even though skintones are a tad washed out and primaries are New extras could include the 14-minute documentary, Vérité: ‘Fire Walk with Me, shot in 2012 by Joseph Garcia Quinn at the opening night of the Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me 20th Anniversay Group Art Exhibiton. Michael J. Anderson, Dean Hurley, Sheryl Lee and Jennifer Lynch are credited to appear in the doc.Fire Walk With Me Photo Gallery– Plenty of great 'Fire Walk With Me' behind-the-scenes photos, including from the deleted scenes.

The Missing Pieces Teaser (HD, 2 min.) – An advertisement for the Blu-ray's deleted scenes supplement. For my money, Twin Peaks: A Limited Event Series is the best TV experience, if not the best film, of 2017. It’s unorthodox to be sure, but if you keep an open mind, you won’t soon forget it. I’ve rarely been torn in so many directions by a show, both emotionally and critically. One of the things that sets Lynch apart from other directors is that he does what he wants creatively and he’s not afraid to challenge his audience. He never compromises his vision. I, for one, am thankful for that. CBS and Showtime have delivered that vision to fans in a fantastic Blu-ray set that deserves – like damn fine coffee and cherry pie – to be savored and appreciated. It will also sit happily on your shelf next to The Entire Mystery and Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me Blu-ray releases, just as it should. Highly recommended!Even though most fans probably own it already, bonus material (in high definition) from previous releases would really make this a complete collection. Behind The Curtain: behind the scenes/making of footage for all 18 parts of the Limited Event Series The rest of the story is the stuff of post-development hell. Lynch and Frost split. Irreconcilable differences. Key members of the cast parted A Very Lovely Dream: One Week in Twin Peaks (HD, 27 min.) – Audio interviews with Kyle MacLachlan, Mark Frost and a few others are played over impressionistic footage of the cast and crew arriving at the Snoqualmie locations in September 2015.
