While watching the sleigh barn surveillance video, Peter happily and excitedly asked an angry Steve that if he can gat his ‘stress ball’ Steve is simply perplexed by the request and continues talking about reaching GrandSanta with the sleigh situation.(it’s unknown if Peter was asking to get the toy or Steve’s testicles, which of course Steve didn’t reply). eye candy every time out, and this is certainly no exception. Indeed, Sony's Blu-ray presentation dazzles from start to finish. During one of the delivery operations in Poland, a toy is accidentally activated, waking a child and nearly revealing Santa. A tense escape operation ensues, during which an elf aboard the S-1 leans on a button, causing a present to fall from the supply line and go unnoticed. Another elf named Bryony Shelfley later finds the missed present—a wrapped bicycle for a young girl named Gwen living in Trelew, Cornwall, whose letter Arthur had personally responded to. Arthur is heartbroken to hear a child's been missed and urges his father and brother to use the S-1 and deliver the final present but Steve, overcome with frustration that Malcolm has chosen to stay as Santa longer, argues that one missed present out of billions is an acceptable error, citing this year's Christmas as the most successful in history. Malcolm's cynical elderly father and predecessor, Grandsanta, whisks Arthur away to deliver it in EVE, the original wooden sleigh that is pulled by the descendants of the flying reindeer. Bryony is revealed to have stowed away and joins the pair, but they get lost on three different continents, lose several of their reindeer and encounter many obstacles, ultimately being mistaken for aliens and causing an international military incident. Arthur Christmas also dazzles away from its plot. The movie is every bit an animation champion, assembling not only a top-notch story the movie a complete experience to be cherished for many holiday seasons to come. Sony and Aardman Animations have left no digital stone new gizmos and gadgets, including the formidable S-1, the North Pole's pride and joy aircraft capable of incredible propulsion and digital film's superb visuals or lessen its dramatic impact, even if it's one day viewed with nostalgia rather than awe. I've enjoyed the movie a couple times now, and I think it's growing on me. However, the reimaginging Santa Claus the way they do -- the specific technologies used and in-jokes -- may eventually date the film to the early 21st century. If HDD had a 4.25 stars rating, that's probably where I would honestly land (though numbers are pretty useless in grading a film's merits and artistic achievements), but I'm rounding up because the film makes me smile and is intelligent entertainment the whole family can enjoy together. Many fans, are already calling Arthur Christmas a rip-off of Disney’s “Prep & Landing” series, which was released in 2009 and unlike the elves of Arthur Christmas whom looked and sounded like children, the elves in Disney‘s version look and sound more like grown adults. radical, ideas into the greater Santa Claus mythos, all of which are welcome additions, particularly as the film embraces traditional (nonreligious) Annual VES Awards Recipients". Aardman spent 18 months on pre-production on the story and design in the UK before relocating to Sony's animation studio in Culver City, California, for another 18 months of production. On 27 April 2009, it was reported that production had begun with Aardman and Sony Pictures Imageworks working together on animation. Aardman CG works its animation magic to create big-nosed, elongated-faced characters like GrandSanta (Bill Nighy), Santa (Jim Broadbent), and Mrs. Santa (Imelda Staunton), all of whom are fleshed out as loving characters with quirks just right for their roles.
