About this deal

Each song deals with the struggle of change—leaving toxic environments, grappling with temptations, or refusing to change—and serve as reminders to Joji to be comfortable with his own growth. Maybe thats because that's a LoFi record and it's difficult to make a deep sound when you making that kind of music. Through the recording process, Joji has unlocked an ambitious new sound and style that’s uniquely his own. The album is predominantly self-produced, yet features notable collaborations with producers Shlohmo, Clams Casino, Thundercat, RL Grime, Patrick Wimberly, Jam City, and a vocal feature from rapper Trippie Redd. On the album, Billboard raved, “Anyone familiar with Joji’s dulcet tones and emotionally revealing lyricism could have predicted that he’d become a solo star.

In previous lives as Filthy Frank + Pink Guy, he rode the wave of viral sensationalism, but here he takes on a more somber, contemplative persona. This pressing came with a noticeably high noise floor (present during quiet parts and transitions as well, so no this isn't a lo-fi effect filter), which was reduced with a good wet cleaning but still much higher than usual. Joji (George Miller) debuted his first album-length solo project Ballads 1 in 2018, after reviving the formerly semi-private moniker whose first incarnation could originally only be found on YouTube. The spine was centred, the material was tough, the inner sleeve was printed this time and not a generic paper one, and had a doodle by Joji printed on one side (scanned incredibly well, it looks amazing in 12"! One of the only times I heard a few popping sounds but it wasn't present throughout the whole track only in the very beginning and end.Reddit and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to provide you with a better experience. I mainly purchased this record because 1) I was a Filthy Frank fan, 2) the Clams Casino and Shlohmo-produced tracks, and 3) SLOW DANCING IN THE DARK DUUUHHHHH!

As the meaning behind their label name suggests (a rough translation from Spanish as 'hill view') Loma Vista has climbed to the summit of today's musical landscape, engaging and representing a sweeping range of the most popular scenes and genres of today. After a/b comparison I can say this version is far far far more superior in term of sound quality than the black one. Worth the money if you really want it on vinyl, but it doesn't come with any extras, liner notes, or anything except a printed inner sleeve.Joji defies convention--his songs characterized by down tempo, melancholic themes and soulful vocals, layered over lush grimy textures, blending elements of trap, folk, electronic, and R/B. Over the course of his career, Joji has become one of our most enthralling yet enigmatic artists, with over 16 billion combined streams to date. but to be honest, I fell in love with it, my copy is almost dead silence and the sound is really good. First off, how's the sound quality on this pressing because I remember the clear pressing being abysmal. It's pretty quiet, the packaging was nice as well; very happy they didn't use a plain, white sleeve for the record.

This year marks the 5th anniversary of his iconic debut album BALLADS 1, his platinum-certified seminal full-length project which contains some of the biggest hits in his career – including multi-platinum hits “SLOW DANCING IN THE DARK” and “YEAH RIGHT”. I got this in hopes of upgrading my copy of Ballads1 because that one is also shit, but now I got two heaps of shit.Joji is one of the most interesting and promising artists living in the digital age, a master of multiple mediums, commanding a massive and almost fanatical fan base, with 600+ million views on YouTube alone. The centre labels were again quite minimalistic, a theme Joji was obviously going for, and looked good. The problem with the record is not the fault of the pressing plant, but the mastering of the songs themselves.
