Recorded at Hive Mind Studios in Brooklyn, NY, with the help of producer/arrangers Mike Buckley and Vincent Chiarito (both members of Charles Bradley's Extraordinaires) and crack team of a-list musicians, his upcoming album blends heavy arrangements and introspective lyrics with sophistication, leaving the listener in a blissful wash of wonderment. Anyone who has had the pleasure of seeing Jalen perform live knows that he is one of the most captivating performers on today's soul scene. The packaging is kind of cheap--I should probably replace the liners--but the included memorabilia are really lovely. Doesn’t affect sound quality but I’ll get Swimming fixed because there is something about a warped record that makes my skin crawl. The tune was recorded over the last year and a half in various studios with musicians such as New Zealand-born Nathan Haines, London's Mr Beale, Belgians Jasper Hautekiet, Levi Wynants and Frederik Kuhn.

His 11 mixtapes boast a couple bucket lists' worth of collaborators, from Bun B and Kendrick Lamar to Rick Ross and Juicy J.
