The recipes in this book are really great, quirky and appealing and I like that they all offer the option to slow or conventionally cook. The slow cooker is the must-have kit for passionate cooks – and these prove that you really can make anything in it. With this chap the recipes are influenced by all sorts of cuisine, but are are made with stuff we can easily obtain. This dish was inspired by some amazing sweet paprika I picked up at a farmer's market in Prague, its subtle spice works perfectly in this cheap flavour packed family meal.Using naturally sweet butternut squash or even sweet potatoes instead of meat makes this recipe not only economical, but delicious too.
