The album didn't feature as many topical tracks as Tribe was known for, though the group did include an excellent, sympathetic commentary on the question of that word ("Sucka Nigga," with a key phrase: "being as we use it as a term of endearment"). We carry a broad range of CDs and vinyl (7”/12” singles and LPs) and specialise in indie, alternative, rock, punk, metal plus a few other genres. Maybe that's their 30th anniversary plan this year 🤞 but for now, cassette and CD are the way to go for this release. Like The Low End Theory, Midnight Marauders was also featured on a number of “best of” lists, including The Source’s list of The 100 Best Rap Albums of All Time, Pitchfork’s Top 100 Albums of the 1990s, and German magazine Spex’s list of The 100 Albums of the Century. Each version depicts different characters in the background, a time capsule of relevant Hip Hop artists at the time.At first there was a lot of pressure, because everybody was so gung-ho about the Low End album, and that came out ‘91. The productions, more funky than jazzy, were tighter overall -- but the big improvement, four years after their debut, came with Q-Tip's and Phife Dawg's raps. Two years later we made the move to our present address, 35 The Headrow, where we have remained ever since. Just noticed that my copy has one side of the inner sleeve repeated on both inner sleeves, if that makes sense.

Due to inventory and accounting purposes, we do not exchange items received for different items than originally purchased. My copy has “DMM SPI -“ in the runouts, not “DMM SP1 SPI -“ (with the double “SP1”) as mentioned in the other entry. Of course, they're all superb, but 1993's "Midnight Marauders" - their third full-length - may well be the best of all. I pulled it from the inner sleeve very careful as usual so I believe this happened during packing at the plant.
