About this deal

At a height of 363 feet (111m), the Saturn V stood 58 feet (18m) taller than the Statue of Liberty from the ground to the torch, [49] and 48 feet (15m) taller than the Elizabeth Tower, which houses Big Ben at the Palace of Westminster. I do have a simple question, if I may, as the stages were built by different manufacturers was there any gloss/matt or colour matching considered? The fore and aft skirts needed extensive detailing from New Ware, and the service tunnel was replaced.

To see how the Saturn V - 1/70th Scale looks and performs with each motor configuration, download the FREE RockSim design file.We completed the DSKY in July 2019, but was not able to integrate in time for the Apollo 50th Anniversary. Not quite that one, which seems to have the umbilical tunnel moulded as one part with the rest of the CSM—mine provided the umbilical tunnel as a separate part. Each joint acurately captures the movments on the actual suit and this model includes APFR (Articulating Portable Foot Restraint) a type of scaffold for weightless environments. The Comet HLLV was a massive heavy lift launch vehicle designed for the First Lunar Outpost program, which was in the design phase from 1992 to 1993 under the Space Exploration Initiative. First extended Apollo mission, carrying lunar orbital Scientific Instrument Module and Lunar Roving Vehicle.

The four outboard engines also tilted toward the outside so that in the event of a premature outboard engine shutdown the remaining engines would thrust through the rocket's center of mass. Given the age of the kit there is some excess flash plastic that’ll need to be removed from the parts and you can probably see this in the photos. I always wanted to correct that, so now at age 59 I have bought the same Revell 1/96 Saturn V kit and all the upgrades you recommended.Other Saturn V derivatives analyzed included the Saturn MLV family of "Modified Launch Vehicles", which would have almost doubled the payload lift capability of the standard Saturn V and were intended for use in a proposed mission to Mars by 1980. As the mighty rocket inches upward off the pad in clouds of billowing smoke, the brilliantly colored flame will make you squint your eyes.
