About this deal

All these things are fantastic, but it was this stove's performance in the wind that impressed us the most. The connection for SOTO's stoves has been engineered to be compatible with the Lindal valve system thereby making it compatible with all major fuel canisters. We don't think weight is of enormous significance when comparing one small canister stove to another. While there is no single backpacking stove for every application or budget, the stove selection above can take the backcountry enthusiast from a weekend for two on the Appalachian Trail to a week on the Colorado Plateau with a group of friends and the high peaks of the Alaska Range.

Bushwalk Australia • View topic - Jetboil VS MSR VS the rest

The better fuel efficiency observed with the Soto WindMaster is likely due to the slower maximum fuel rate which causes slightly slower boiling times. Simply put, in my opinion the Soto windmaster is the single best stove on the market for pretty much any boil water and simple cooking needs. When compared to other similar stoves, the Soto Windmaster offers more efficient heat output and less fuel consumption. Our testers found this one could be turned down so low that it is easily blown out by any disturbance in the ambient air. Without the need for an additional ignition source, that makes this stove with the 3 plex about the same weight. We have a full range here from the smallest and lightest through to those more sturdy models with a wider footprint and the windproof ones that will heat your food in the worst conditions. If you want more high-wind capacity then a MSR windpro 2 or other remote canister stove with a flexible windshield is a good idea. This compact and powerful Soto WindMaster Stove can boil 2 cups of water in under 2mins 30secs and will maintain a consistent output in cold weather and winds thanks to the micro regulator and the design of the burner head, making this a fantastic and award winning backpacking and camping stove.

Soto Windmaster Review | Tested by GearLab

Soto Windmaster’s pot support is not attached to the stove, it’s assembled separately, and it comes with two different pot supports; TRIFLEX and 4FLEX which allows you the versatility of choosing suitable pot support depending on your trip. The Pacific Crest Trail Gear Guide: Class of 2019 Survey ranks SOTO’s WindMaster stove at the top of their list based on 846 completed surveys. Gas stoves are the kings of camp cooking, they are lightweight, convenient with a fully adjustable flame. It comes with a Triple O-ring Seal and Metal Seal, which provide a secure connection between the stove and the fuel canister. The WindMaster outranked all the other small canister stoves in our review, making it the most fuel-efficient of our test group. Avoid those heavy and clunky systems and grab a Soto Windmaster and whatever titanium/aluminium pot suits your needs and budget.

If you haven’t tried a SOTO stove, do yourself a favor and do it, I can promise you won’t regret it.Portability: If you plan to travel with your Soto stove, make sure you select one that is lightweight and compact. Truth be told, if you plan to cook anything more complicated than a freeze-dried meal, oatmeal, or coffee, you may want to look elsewhere. These competitive specs ought to make the Windmaster an extremely attractive option for lightweight adventurers who still want the convenience of cooking on gas. The cheapest stove in our test, The BRS-3000T, ended up with a middle-of-the-pack score and performed well enough to meet the needs of the occasional backpacker. With a micro control valve and serrated pot supports this little stove can be a great addition to a camp cooks set up.
