About this deal

Although this book is set on the French Riviera, I was pleased that it touches down briefly in my beloved Greece. What a dream of a book to read, I have literally read this within 24 hours, as I couldn't put it down.

There’s also traditional family pantomimes at the Princess Theatre in Torquayand the Palace Theatre in Paignton– Oh yes they are! Off-screen, Carol can often be found ensconced in a book, singing, dancing and taking long walks in the countryside. We offer good value, friendly and comfortable accommodation and arejust a stones throw away from Torquay's award winning beaches, sparkling blue sea and all thatthe English Rivieraand surrounding area has to offer. However, Gabriel is convinced that the hotel belongs to him as it had formerly belonged to his father, and is determined to fight for it.

Once the site of Nice Castle and citadel, only the ground on which they stood remains-- but this remains a remarkable spot for sweeping views over the city, port, and Baie des Anges (Angel Bay). It's time to head back to the coast with an excursion to the city famous for its glamorous annual film festival and luxurious lifestyle: Cannes. Start your day in St-Tropez with a walk around the Vieux Port (Old Port), dotted with impressive yachts and restaurants ideal for people-watching.

I know, it sounds a bit like a classic 1970’s Mills and Boon story but there is so much more to the book than that. From Saint-Tropez, head to Hyères, considered by many to be one of the most beautiful and varied areas on the Côte d'Azur. However, if your ‘cup of tea; is simple, beautiful escapism and a peak into how the other half live - fairy tale style……. The Old Port and beaches are pleasant spots for a dip and late-afternoon aperitif as you watch the sun set over the water.Having enjoyed Carol Kirkwood’s previous book, I hoped for another good read and wasn’t disappointed. I’m just more of a realist and like the main characters to be flawed and ‘less than perfect’ which frankly we all are!

The first is about Ariana who inherits a hotel; she wants to find out why she was given the hotel and she also wants to renovate the hotel. For dinner, either book a table in Menton, which is home to several noteworthy restaurants, or back in Monaco, where a glamorous nightcap at places like the Bar Americain at the Hotel de Paris Monte Carlo will ensure you end day two in style. Many of our friendly staff members have served here for over a decade and this is evidenced by their old-style courtesy and extra concern for your well-being. Beautiful setting, deftly outlined characters and a family mystery that keeps you guessing right till the end.Your seven-day adventure starts in Nice, arguably the region's most beautiful major city and home to numerous cultural and historic treasures.

However, as the characters demonstrate, regardless of background, there is not a true feeling of contentment and I found it interesting to observe how the different people all strive for a better life. In the evening, head back to the mainland for dinner on the water, or enjoy a meal on the island of Port Cros. When party animal Ariana’s grandmother passes away she is on a mission to find out why she has left her a hotel in the Cannes as it definitely hasn’t really been acknowledged as being in her family.Spend the afternoon wandering through the cobbled, narrow streets and alleyways of Antibe's Old Town, and admire views over the water from various points. Ariana Theodosis inherits the Hotel du Soleil on the French Riviera after the death of her beloved grandmother, but the hotel holds a secret. After taking in the sights of the port and town, grab a table for lunch on the marina at restaurants such as La Villa Madie or Le Grand Bleu. And it’s great to know that when you book a package holiday (including a flight) through On the Beach, every part is financially protected by the ATOL scheme. As events unfold, Ariana finds herself falling for Madeleine's son, Gabriel, but there is a shadow cast by the death of Liberty Granger, a Hollywood actress, at a party Ariana attended whilst still living in California.
